Getting in the Mood For Erotic Romance

Let's face it, sometimes I'm just not in the mood to write--or even talk, about sex. However, my job doesn't stop turning just because I'm not in the mood anymore. I still have to pull out all the knee shaking, lip quivering, delicious goodness. What's a girl to do? First things first: make a list of sexy goodness!
  1. I light chocolate peppermint scented candles, or some other sexy scent of the moment

      2. I whip out some of my favorite short story treats for "research"

     3. I put on a little plaid skirt and garters.

                        4. I look at sexy men ( Not the best pic but have you seen the man in a tight t-shirt dancing? Because that's where it is at! P.S, I tried to find this video on Youtube for you people and I couldn't find it after two hours and gave up.)

So those are my go-to solutions for writer's block. What do you do when your just not feeling your day?

Getting smoochy with the hubby always works. Also I like to watch documentaries on sex. Sexo Urbano really helps, because I don't know what they're saying (it's in Spanish) and my imagination runs away with me when I try to figure out what they're talking about. Also being Spanish it's a lot more risque (and less tackay) than American shows. Soft porn doesn't do much for me, because there's no plot. There has to be a story to intrigue the writer in me :)

I too have to be in the mood, and it usually involves reading what I wrote the day before, reading something much hotter and better than anything I could ever write, getting the right playlist on my ipod and then putting some hot dude on the TV next to me.

Works like a charm.

In the mood... yeah, there are those times that try a writer's erotic romance souls.
Usually, if I read someone else's hot goodness or if I see a pic of a particularly sexy man that'll do the trick. Music is always a mood setter.

Usually, I edit or revise. Because, I really don't like doing that and suddenly my muse is quite happy to ponder something naughty to write.

Other things that inspire me to write are locations. We were at the beach and my mind began to work out a scene in the surf, luckily I brought a notebook and pen so I could jot down specifics.

Like a few others, music really helps me to work on those sensual scenes. With my vampires, I have turned to some really interesting groups like Dead Can Dance and Within Temptation to stir up the tension and entice my imagination.
