Flirty Friday

What does it mean to flirt? I found a definition I liked. "Playful behavior intended to arouse sexual interest, or to talk or behave amorously, without serious intentions." That said, what does flirting look like?

Here are good examples or two.

First, a female version. She's definitely flirting, and I think her intentions might be pretty serious, too. Or playful. Likely both. :)

Sexy, flirty woman

Flirty guy (Jawk)
A male version of a flirty look. This guy is from one of my books, Jawk. Most definitely serious.

So, we've got the idea of what flirting looks like. So who do you want to flirt with? A guy with short hair, or do you prefer it long?

Short hair and a 'tude

Long haired beauty

Can't I have both? LOL

Athletic type, or relaxed?

Athletic

Lazing in the sun

Well dressed man? Or one who knows how to take it off? (guess which I like. ^_^ Yep, both!)

Man in a tux

Man who takes it off!

The best type? I'll go with the ones who are flirting back!

Thirsday 13 - Find Time For Sex

In a recent weekly poll, statistics showed that most people believed a typical couple should have sex three times a week if not every day. How does this compare to you and your significant other?

If you feel you'd like to improve the amount of sensual time you spend with your partner here are a few ideas to help you!

1. Make it a point to go to bed at least an hour to a half-hour before you normally do.

2. If you're a morning person, try getting up an hour to half-hour earlier.

3. On days you have an hour or so lunch or mid-day break, meet each other at home or at a hotel for a fun quickie!

4. When you or your partner comes home, don't speak to them. Just grab their hand, drag them to the bedroom (or stay where you are) and make love.

5. Take your showers together.

6. Order out for dinner and make love before your food arrives.

7. While your children are taking a nap or engrossed watching a movie, steal your partner away and make love.

8. Hire a housekeeper to free up "needless" time.

9. Take a "sick" day from work and spend the day recovering together! (My personal fav!)

10. Clean the house together while sipping wine, and then relax.

11. Go for a drive and park. Just be careful not to get caught.

12. Send your kids off to a sports event with an older child, friend or relative. That will give you at least 2-3 hours alone.

13. Whenever you're alone together... make love!

Humpday Help - Chix Soup for the Body

Folks are twittering, it's all over Facebook, it's all over town and I've got it. Stuffed nose and sore throat. Ugh! Not fun with deadlines looming. I remember a time when Grandma would move in with her homemade chicken soup and cure the entire household from the common cold. Ironically, studies show that Gram was right. Chicken soup really can help you get over a cold!

Those miserable symptoms of the cold usually include coughing, sneezing, and a stuffy nose. Actual university studies have proven ingredients in chicken soup have anti-inflammatory properties that inhibit certain white blood cells from traveling into airways that contribute to the inflammation that causes cold symptoms.

Chicken soup contains compounds that also help inhibit mucus production. In addition to the soup's anti-inflammatory effects, the heat and steam may help open nasal passages especially if you add some garlic or cayenne pepper! Always drink the broth, researchers determined most of the help comes from the liquid.

Here's Grandma's recipe:
3-4 lb stewing chicken
1 onion
2 -3 qts water
1 Tbsp chopped parsley
1/2 tsp salt, dash pepper
1 Tbsp butter
1/2 cup diced celery
1/4 cup diced carrots
2 cups noodles or 1/4 cup rice
Heat to boiling then simmer until meat is tender. Gram would simmer hers all day.
She also said you could always add lemon juice to "help cut a thick throat" or garlic for a stuffed up nose.

Grandam always thought ahead and would prepare batches of stock soup so she'd be ready at a moment's notice to aid her ailing family. In today's world, preparing ahead may also help the working mom.

Basic Chicken Stock
4-4 1/2 lbs chicken
2 large onions
3 carrots, leave skin on
1 leek, chopped
2 garlic cloves, lightly crushed
season with: parsley, thyme, marjoram or tarragon, bay leaf

Put chix and veggies in bottom of a large pot, cover w/ about 2" of water. Bring to boil over med heat. A foam will begin to appear on the surface; skim off the foam w/ a slotted spoon. When stock reaches boiling point, reduce heat to low, add seasonings, simmer uncovered for 4-5 hours. If liquids falls below the solids, top w/ cold water. At the end of simmering, gently ladle the stock through a stainer into a large or several containers (canning jars work best). Store in fridge or freezer.

If you wish to keep more than just the stock; simmer for only 2-3 hours the remove meat from bones, place with veggies and stock back into pot and simmer for another 2 hours. Gently ladle into jars.

These "jars of health" make great get-well gifts too!

So be sure to eat your chicken soup, drink plenty of fluids, and get lots of rest when you feel the symptoms of a cold coming on.
Yep... that's the key... chicken soup and a good nap...

Reader Gold – Series/Serials

Sorry I am so late with my post.

I’ve been reading a lot lately and I love series/serials so I have been rereading my favs. I’ve written on my own blog about my love of series and serials. What they are and how I feel about them. Almost monthly there are so many books coming that are part of a series/serial.

First here are my definitions of them both:

Series ~ Taige Crenshaw Definition:
Novels that has a related story theme but each one is complete in and of itself.

Serial ~ Taige Crenshaw Definition:
Novels that feature/follows the same main character/s yet are still a fresh story each time.

No matter which way you slice it I find whether it is a serial or series I enjoy writing stories like this. It gives me room to stretch my mind, push my characters to give me more and wallow in there adventure even more. Although I enjoy these stories I don’t usually start writing with the intention of it being a series/serial sometimes it just happens to evolve that way.

I write what I love to read and I’m one of those readers that wondered what is next for such and such main character. Or what happened to this sub – character that I liked in this or that novel. I go hunting to find more and when I find it I feel like I’ve struck READER’S GOLD. I jump up and down and shout in glee. LOL.

I’ve been known to search for years to get that book to complete a series/serial I was reading. Hey I’m a dedicated reader and I want the complete set of my series/serial.

For instance I remember many years ago I picked up an author that I hadn’t tried before. The novel was great and imagine my glee that I struck reader gold and it was a series. I went back and bought all of their novels except one which was sold out. I searched and searched for years for this one book and couldn’t find a copy. Not even a used one. I even contacted the author to find out if the story was going to be re-printed. To my dismay it wasn’t at that time. Amazon even had over 200 people waiting for a copy of this book when I checked. I stopped checking the numbers after I saw the amount of people. No one was selling. A few years after looking I finally struck reader gold in 2005 when the book was reprinted and I was able to finish my collection. I know me and over 199 other people very happy.

Can you imagine so many readers looking for an author. Searching for that Reader’s Gold. That is what I want my novels to be to my current and future readers ~ Reader’s Gold. No I don’t want you the reader to wait a long time for my books but I want you to be so drawn into the worlds that I create you can’t wait to see what happens next.

This is what Reader’s Gold is all about. As my thoughts of Reader’s Gold evolved I thought of all the author’s who have some wonderful series/serials that I feel are Reader’s Gold. They line my bookshelf’s (online and print) and I go looking for them when they are released.

I’m sure most of you have a little Reader’s Gold on your bookshelf so come on and share. Give me some new Reader’s Gold to find.

A Staged Affair

Blurb:

Anna Fuller is a Shakespearean actress touring Texas with a theater troupe, when rancher, King Colton spots her playing Lady Macbeth in the Sparrow Creek saloon. He promptly falls in love with the red-haired beauty.  Hank isn’t much of a romantic figure and doesn’t know what it will take to make Anna content. But over the next four years, he spends a fortune trying to do just that.
Anna only wants King’s love, but he’s so busy busting broncos, herding cattle, and fighting land-grabbers, he doesn’t see what Anna offers till it’s almost too late. In a stand-off between two hot-headed lovers, they discover that life without each other isn't really life at all.
Mini Excerpt:
"Put me down you Jackass, I've come to get the rest of my things." Anna screeched as Hank tossed her through the air to land on her rear, bouncing in the middle of the fancy bed he'd ordered built just for them. "Very brave of you accosting an innocent woman, unprotected and all alone," she hissed.
"Show me an innocent woman and I'll apologize," Hank growled at the same time he sat on the edge of the bed, grabbed her and slung her over his knee. In two seconds, her skirts were around her waist.
"You have no right..." Anna got that far with her declaration.
"The hell you say," Hank Colton snorted. "I have every right. You're mine."
Talia Ricci @ Joyfully Reviewed said...“Oh my but King was opinionated and ultimately male. I wanted to bonk him on the back of his head and admonish him to behave... I rolled my eyes and then sweated at the passion of these two strong characters.” Thumbs up!Read Full Review

Sultry Sunday: Football, sexy?

It's a Sunday in autumn, so I have football on the mind.

Yes, football. American football, specifically (though there is something to be said for those South American yummies in their short shorts playing futbol in the hot hot sun). Ahem, well then, as I was saying: football. Now, don't you dare clickity: this post is erotica-related. I promise. Not only is football replete with all those delicious metaphors that stimulate the intellectual sixth sense (tight ends, touch downs, and huddling over balls, yeah?), it's also the entry drug to a whole bag of fantasy goodness.

Exhibit 1: The salty smell of smuggled-in hooch. Say you're lingering in the stands during the third quarter of a game that is, to all intents and purposes, over. Surrounding you are a dozen or so nubile uni boys. Half of them are shirtless. The other half are tanked. Not a girlfriend in sight. And then, filtering through the stench of popcorn and spilled soda, you catch it: the whiff of smuggled-in hooch. You turn to the dark-eyed stranger on your right, the one with the white letter T smeared all over his perfect pecs, and ask him for a sip. Deepen the conversation by asking exactly where and how he smuggled in his flask, and the game is suddenly much more interesting.

Exhibit 2: The under-blanket one-hander. Nothing says autumn like a cool night at the game with your hunny. Only, by the time you’ve nibbled the hot-dog-on-a-stick (not nearly as titillating as it sounds) and buffed your nails and hollered a little and texted your BFF, you’re getting bored. At the same time, Hunny is way into the game and has rebuffed all your attempts to distract him. That’s when you remember the stadium blanket. Of course! You draw it up snug over the both of you and take the chill off your ungloved hands in the warmest place you can think of. Once Hunny has forgotten the game entirely, you can gently remind him that the blanket is on your lap, too, and you always did enjoy a tie ballgame. Voila: you both have something to cheer about.

Exhibit 3: Sunday afternoon overtime. He’s watched two games already, and now it’s getting dark outside. You’ve been patient with him all day, even nodded sweetly when he invited Nick and Andre over to watch. And after being a good girl all day long, you’ve decided that’s a splendid idea. The watching, that is. You nip into Hunny’s closet and find his last-year’s lucky jersey, the slippy polyester one in extra large. You put it on. And take everything else off. You slink into the basement viewing cathedral with a beer in hand and smile on your face. Time the boys to see how long it takes each of them to notice that there’s a half-naked woman among them, lounging on the beanbag. If they mention it, remind them that they’re only here to watch. Unless you’re game, of course.

See? Football is very sexy. Now get out there and score.

SINful Saturday...Pray today for Andy!

Well I have dedicated a few posts to the Superhot series Spartacus, and I have some sad news you may or may not have heard.

Series star Andy Whitfield has cancer, non-hodgkins lymphoma. He has been battling it for a bit, and the filming of the second season was on hold as a result.

Unfortunately the signs are pointing to having Andy replaced as he continues his fight. It won't be the same without his special brand of sexiness, and vulnerability.

I am praying for Andy to heal up and don his toga again.

Let's celebrate his hunky self as we send out the good vibes to him today. As you grab your significant other, have a small fantasy of him in honor of him.

Let's hope he's back in fighting form soon!

Kisses Andy! Get well from Chloe

Flirty Friday- It's Snuggle Time

The season has officially, according to my calendar, changed. Gone are the hot days and humid nights. Here to stay are the sunny crisp days and chilly nights.

And what's better than to snuggle in closer to the one you love.

Imagine- curled up on the couch enjoying each other's company...

Taking a warm bath to fend off the colder weather...

Before you know it, the seasons will change again...hopefully bringing a glorious time for all to celebrate.

*New* Video Trailer for Where The Rain Is Made - Keta Diablo

Buy Where The Rain Is Made Here On KINDLE: AMAZON KINDLE

Excerpt: Surrender Love (R)

This is an excerpt from my 2010 EPIC Award Winner in Erotic SciFi Romance, Surrender Love. It features the beginning love story between the immortal Sempervian Luc Saint-Cyr and the Kin male, Izzorah Ceeow.

Scene set up:  Concerned when he discovers Izzorah had suffered from a common childhood disease that often shortens the lives of the feline Kin, Luc has Nanchonta, a fellow Sempervian who can heal with his touch examine him. The healer discovers not only problems with Izzorah's heart, but also with his eyes, and does what he can to heal him. Izzorah obtains a promise from Nanchonta to keep the near-blindness a secret from Luc. The healer advises Luc against sex until after Izzorah has had surgery to repair his damaged heart. This scene is from Izzorah's point of view shortly before Luc rejoins him.
========
Forearms braced against the wall, Izzorah rested his head on them and let the hot shower beat on his back.
Luc! How did I get hooked on you so fast? Where are you? He shut his eyes, imagining his lover's naked chest beneath his hands, his dark wet skin lathered with soap.
Izzorah ran his hands across the coarse, curly hair sprinkled across the center of Luc's chest, down the center of his ripped abs, to his navel and then his groin. He wrapped one hand around Luc's shaft. "You're so big. Thick. Hard. How will I ever get my mouth all the way around you? How will I ever take you inside me?"
Luc's whiteless eyes gleamed. He leaned in close, tilted his head, and kissed him, pulled back and moved close again. "Mine," he whispered and then took Izzorah's mouth in a possessive kiss.
Izzorah surrendered to Luc, wrapped in his arms, protected and cherished.
Heat made him dizzy, and he braced himself in the corner. Nanchonta had warned him not to overexert himself. He didn't mean no sex, did he? No way he would give up Luc. At least I'll die happy.
"Izzorah?" Luc's voice sounded far away.
He opened the glass door and poked his head out of the shower. The room felt cold after the hot mist. "I'm in here."
Luc entered the room, already stripped to shirt and pants. "Thought you were taking a bath." He started opening his shirt.
"Didn't want to get in the tub without you. It felt lonely."
His lover grinned. "We can shower first and then laze about in the tub together. As long as it's not too hot. I hear heat's bad for the heart. Sound good?"
Izzorah couldn't suppress a toothy smile. "Perfect. Will you stop worrying?"
"Me? Never." He smiled as he stepped out of his pants. "Is there room in there for me?"
"Hell, yeah."
When Luc tossed the pants across a rack and the shirt after them, the design embroidered on the cuff caught Izzorah's attention. He gasped. Slender bottles on the shelf near the sink held blue and white creams. The faucet was shaped like a swan, arched over a white crystal basin supported on a pedestal. The handles were shaped like wings. Soaps sat on a small bowl to the left.
Luc looked over his shoulder and then back at Izzorah. "Is something wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost."
Izzorah blinked twice, rubbed his eyes, and blinked again. Things were barely fuzzy at all. He stood in the open shower door, unwilling to look away from the sights around him, especially Luc, with his sexy smile, the broad curve of his chest, and brawny arms.
"Rah? What is it? You're scaring me. Say something."
"I --" He met Luc's gaze. I can see you. Really, actually see you, as well as if we stood toe to toe. He started laughing, kept on laughing while Luc came near, squinting.
"Izzorah, love. Are you all right?"
He couldn't stop laughing, struck by the irony of his situation. My heart's ready to give out, and my eyes start working. How screwed up am I?
Nanchonta had sworn to keep his blindness a secret but had insisted on examining his eyes. Izzorah had spent so long looking into the man's eyes he'd gotten lost in their pale depths. Did Nanchonta do something to me? How long will it last? Izzorah laughed again, giggles bubbling up out of him. He clamped a hand over his mouth.
"Oh, Rah." Luc wrapped his arms around him. "You're freezing. Let's get you in the hot water."
He let Luc maneuver him into the shower, laughing until tears ran down his cheeks.
Luc turned on other controls, and soothing, hot water sprayed from all around the shower stall, putting them in the middle of a mist. The water sparkled in the air, catching the light and making arcs of color.
"Oh!" Water beaded on Izzorah's hands, glistened on his golden skin. It shone on Luc's dark skin like diamonds, and Izzorah spread his hands across the man's chest. "Beautiful. So many colors."
"Did Nanchonta give you something?" Luc captured his face in his hands. "Look at me, babe." Luc was squinting, concerned for him. "Are you all right?"
Even in the midst of so much water, Izzorah caught the scent of his worry.
"I'm fine, Luc. I…" His attention wavered to the mist around them. "So many colors. Oh, look! Is this what a rainbow looks like?"
The water cut off. Luc opened the door. "Come on. Let's get you into bed."
"But --" Izzorah let Luc sweep him along. "It was so pretty. I've never seen a rainbow before."
"I'm going to kill Nanchonta." Luc toweled Izzorah down, wrapped him in a bath sheet, grabbed one for himself, and led him to the bed. He pulled down the covers. "Here. Get in, love."
Izzorah probed the skin on Luc's arm. "You're so many colors. You're darker here, on your elbow. And light up here." He skimmed his fingers across Luc's shoulder. "I never noticed."
Luc fumbled with something on the nightstand. "McDoth! Get hold of Nanchonta and get him back here on the double! And hurry, damn it!"
Izzorah gripped his arm. "Stay with me, Luc. I want to look at you. You're so beautiful."
"I'm not leaving you for a second." He swore in the Kin language, then switched to something vaguely Tyran-sounding, and then a language Izzorah had never heard before.
"Luc?"
"What is it, love?" He drew Izzorah's hand up to his mouth and kissed his palm.
"Are you making up cuss words? I've never heard any of the things you're saying, but I can tell you're mad."
Luc bit his lips. He laid Izzorah's hand against his own cheek and turned to kiss his palm. Water sparkled on his lashes. "I'm worried about you. Did Nanchonta give you anything? Any kind of drug?"
He shook his head. "He looked at me. Laid his hands on my shoulders, on my chest. Like he did Soli. Oh, it was so amazing. I wish you could've seen him. He picked the baby up and held him, little head in the palm of his hand and his body along one arm. They stared at one another for a long time. Soli didn't cry even once. It was like he knew Nanchonta was there to help him. After a bit, he closed his eyes and went to sleep, and when we held him, he felt normal. No fever. Nanchonta gave them some drops and said Soli'd be fine in a day or two. He's magic, Luc. He made it so I can --"
The door burst open, and Nanchonta charged into the room. "What's wrong?"

A Vampire Exclusive

Good just-before-sunset (we don't call it Twilight anymore, do we?), folks. Vivien Jackson here. Christa Paige was going to post, but she got side-tracked. (Probably by a vampire. Or a uniformed officer of the law.)

Like many of you, I've been reading a lot of this "paranormal romance" stuff lately. It's fascinating, enlightening, and more often than not it sets mah e-book reader on fire. In a good way. However, like many readers and writers in the genre, I've had my questions about parts of it. So I phoned up an expert -- because I know so dang many -- and got the skinny on the nibbly. Hold on to yer broomsticks, witches!

I have with me tonight one Mikhail Komar. He's a So-Cal vampire who's made some cameo appearances in Christa Paige's Blood Vine books. He's also dark, ripped, and blue-eyed. Basically deep-fried sexy. Moreover, Mikhail has agreed to set us straight on all things vamp. Lucky us!

Vivien Jackson: Hi. You're pretty.

Mikhail Komar: Come again? Let’s talk about this pretty thing.

VJ: Pretty old, I mean. Pretty old. Right? Exactly how old are we talkin?

MK: I’m the baby of the family and coming up on my century and a half birthday. It’s going to be a big bash. Since I used to devise many ways to flirt with the coterie of the Grand Duchess Maria, I’d say I’m old enough.

VJ: Grand Duchess… okaaaay. That qualifies as old. And your full name is Mikhail Komar. What kind of name is that?

MK: It comes from the aristocratic lineage of my forbears who settled in Abkhazia. Any vampire with that name is proud and noble.

VJ: Abkhazia. Wow, that's a lot of consonants. Does anybody ever call you Misha?

MK: Misha? Anyone else would not get away with calling me that but for you, doll, I’ll make an exception.

VJ: Pardon me whilst I blush. There. I feel better now. Soooo, next question: Those Sookie books posit a hypothetical world where all you vamps are out of the closet.

MK: What’s in the closet? Maybe I’d like to stay in there. Right now, there’s too much danger in Los Angeles for us to reveal anything about our people. I’ll excuse your humanity for not understanding the threat.

VJ: Have you read the books or seen True Blood? Got any thoughts on 'em?

MK: We play shots whenever the show comes on. Sleeping in a coffin, one low-ball straight up. Implosions require one shot and a chaser. Sizzling silver, yeah that one incurs a couple fingers of scotch. The hawt sex… too bad they haven’t asked me to join the show. I’ve got some ideas there. If I met Eric, though, I’d shake his hand. Dude has a great grasp of foreign languages and runs a tight ship. I’d stop being a namby pamby tho and take Sookie as mine. Nothing doin if you let someone else bang what’s yours.

VJ: Who would win, a vampire, a werewolf, or SpiderMan?

MK: I can read thoughts Miz Jackson “Ab-licious” Really? Might want to clear your mind of ripped abdomens. I’d be happy to show you mine to give you an idea of perfection. A vampire of course would win, fangs down.

VJ: *more with the blushing* To the best of your knowledge, are there werewolves?

MK: I’ve been alive for a very long time. Never seen any person morph into a poof ball. Imagine how sucky that would be. One minute human, the next scratching for fleas or worse licking one’s…. *shudders* If I ever met a werewolf, provided he isn’t Native American because I am sure there are Bill of Rights rules about that, I’d domesticate it and be sure to have it housebroken before allowing it on the furniture.

VJ: Demons?

MK: Have you met my eldest brother Ivan? I believe evil roams this earth, roaring like a hungry lion. Is it a demon stalking you in the deep, dark of night? Or a rogue angel? Perhaps. I’ve seen horrible atrocities, Miss Jackson, I have no doubt Demons are at work, and evil is insidious.

VJ: Fairies?

MK: I live in West Hollyweird, but I don’t think you mean those types. TinkerBell I’ve heard won’t exist if I say there are no fairies. I’m ok with all-out murdering of assholes and slitting the throats of half-breed bastards who harm my sister, but I won’t take the rap for slaying TinkerBell. Can’t have that on my eternal conscience.

VJ: The tooth fairy?

MK: Do you know, the Fang Fairy leaves C-notes? I would have loved catching that hot little fairy when she came to collect my canines. She could reward me any way she pleased.

VJ: Team Edward or Team Jacob?

MK: Neither. Have you seen the way they dress? And what’s with the Volvo? Soccer moms, sparkly or not, drive in hatchbacks. I’ve got a Testarossa, wanna take a spin in it with me? I’ll go fast, or really slow. But, honestly, Jacob at least has balls and seems to use ‘em. I don’t support any male vampire who lets a woman lead him around by the dick. Gotta vamp up, take advantage of the superiority.

VJ: I will endeavor to stop visualizing you in a Ferrari. Or leading you around by genitalia. *endeavoring* Ah, now I feel better. Do you ever worry about the Feds finding out about your cannibalistic practices?

MJ: Don’t you know cannibalism is the new black? I believe you have been reading those horror novels, again. I’d be happy to show you what it means to have a vampire dine on you….

VJ: *endeavoring* Have you or your kind ever run afoul of governments because you, you know, eat people?

MK: *glowers* We do not eat people. America doesn’t even know we exist, so no afoul running there. We have had our dealings with Russia, but those are handled by the fang-squad internally on a need to know basis. Sorry, but you don’t need to know.

VJ: … about that. Check. Okay: Does virgin blood taste better?

MK: Human blood is human blood: ordinary. I stay far away from virgin Kan Asma females, though. Biting one of them and sipping from her vein means curtains for my bachelor-hood. My brother Traian declares there is nothing as sweet tasting as an innocent mate. I’ll simply take his word for it.

VJ: You have special powers, right? What's yours?

MK: *reaches over to touch Miss Jackson* I can wield currents of energy and manipulate them into a heat source. Very handy during sexcapades. Women love what I can do with the simple stroke of my fingertip. Feel it?

VJ: *ENDEAVORING* What about shapeshifting into a bat? Can you do that?

MK: Right, can you turn into a squirrel? No? Well, we are a people similar to humans. Same physical make-up only with better genetics. Our Híbe talents run the gamut, but no one has ever turned into a bat. My sister has an affinity for romance novels with shapeshifting dragons, but we don’t have that power either. I may look civilized, Miss Jackson, but I don’t need to morph into an animal to scare the shit out of someone. My fangs will do the job all by their lonesome.

VJ: Mirrors: can I see you in one or not?

MK: *quirks an eyebrow and mutters about vampire lore* I might have a wicked, soul but I assure you that has nothing to do with seeing a reflection or not. How else could I get this scruffy perfection and precisely clipped goatee? Its vamp-scaping to the fullest and I do need a mirror to achieve such excellence.

VJ: Do you have one over your bed?

M: Wanna come over and see if I do?

VJ: Sorry, that was inappropriate. MuchlikethethoughtsI'mhaving. Anyhoo...

MK: I like your thoughts, let’s indulge them. I’m especially intrigued by the one with the belt and cuffs. Oh and chocolate too. Why Miss Jackson you do have a naughty, dirty mind. You should come over sometime.

VJ: If I eat garlic and then you suck me, do you have to use an EpiPen?

MK: Are you offering, then? Want to try it out? I’d have to sip from you long and hard to make sure. We can add some wine to sweeten things up a bit. *smirks with a hint of fang.* Is that another blush? Very nice. Okay, I’ll play fair. The only thing I’m allergic to is the sun.

VJ: Tangentially, is "suck me" the correct terminology or "bite me"?

MK: Either one works like an invitation, doll. I’m so there, fangs a’ready. Just tip your head to the side, a little bit more…

VJ: Sure. Yes. I mean, good to know! Are you cold or warm to the touch?

MK: I’m hotter than a Texan on a T-bone steak.

VJ: Can I check to make sure you didn't just fib me?

MK: *pulls shirt up* Take your time.

VJ: Ummm hmmmm. Finally, the last question of the night: How do you get from LA to Australia without getting crispy fried by sunlight?

MK: Layovers aren’t just for quickies in the bathroom…. Ah, okay, you want me to answer seriously. Well, I’ve never been down under, so I have no anecdotal information there. It takes a lot of planning to ensure we don’t get caught ass bare in the sun. But with internet check-ins and a variety of flights to choose from, only stupid vampires would go non-stop into a radiation fry-fest.

Now, if that’s all, thank you, Miss Jackson, for visiting me tonight. Would you like to stay until sunrise? I’ll make it worthwhile….

Well, there was going to be more to the interview, but I got sidetracked. Still: See? Informative! And I didn't even ask him if he sparkles.

**Thanks Vivien for taking Mikhail off my hands for a while. He can be a trouble-maker. I hope you had fun. If not, I could find some creative ways to punish him. Let's see, wonder if it's time to have Mikhail meet his mate?

Poor Vivien, She Had No Idea

April: Today, I'm introducing a fairly new blogger to Romance Writers Behaving Badly, Vivien Jackson!!! I'm not sure she realized what she was getting into when she agreed to this interview. I'm so EVIL that way. LOL.

But let's get started! Welcome Vivien. I'm very interested to talk with anyone who writes erotica and erotic romance :>, especially a woman who thinks watching a man do dishes is sexy. LOL.

If washing dishes, such a mundane task, led you to pursue writing hawt shmex as you put it... I hate to imagine the kinkiest, sexiest thing you’ve ever done... um... but if you want to share (April blushes):

Vivien: Changed my clothes on stage in front of about three hundred people (it was in the script, honest). Also, getting frisky in the catwalk of a theatre right behind the Fresnels was pretty hot. Literally and figuratively.

April: Oh wow. Cough, cough. Fans self. Most of the time writers are really quiet in their real lives (or maybe they're just keeping something from me). So I can't imagine if you get that wild in real life ... well, just how bad do you get with your writing, are we talking just suggestion or downright bondage?

V: If the character will do it, I will write it. I’m a complete slave to those guys.

A: Slave hugh? I'm getting images of Vivien in a sexy pose, bound, being "tortured" by Adonises while a mighty male hand wields a soapy sponge. MAN, why do I have the soapy image of male hands fried to my brain now.

Let's move on, shall we. What’s the best thing you’ve ever written—the best line?

V: Well, the best lines are all about set-up, so pinching one out of context probably wouldn’t have the same effect. However, if I had to pick a single line that sums up an entire story, it’d be this one from an erotica short, an unpublished follow-up to “Unless”:

“Really, like bunnies?”

A: Oh, my mind wanders. LOL... toward sex. And rabbits do a LOT of that. ;>

If you could have any movie star take on a role as one of your heroes, who would it be?

V: I hadn’t thought of this before, but now that you mention it, I can sort of see Jason Momoa as Alice’s big burly off-limits boss, John Mero, in the novel I’m currently working on.

A: Again, what's with all of these writers knowing way more sexy guys than I do. Sigh. I do need to get our more.

Already I'm getting a feel for just how hot your stuff must be... but how long do you like them (hehehehe I just can't get away from the word long and sex together. I'm so juvenile)? I mean your manuscripts?

V: I would like my manuscripts to be around 90k. In reality, my two works-in-progress are hovering at 40k with only half of the outlines filled in. My published pieces are shorts, between 5 and 10k.

A: There's always the one kind of scene we all dread. Some, it's the action sequences but more and more I hear it's the sex scenes. For you, what are the hardest scenes to write?

V: Uck, definitely those necessary-for-plot things that don’t have much emotional or action content. It’s hard to cram transition and exposition into a car chase or sex scene, but boy am I trying.

A: Agreed. The slow build up of tension through scenes that are not sex related are very difficult.

Now, I always like to slip this in just in case I have an author that's a bit shy - How close in real life have you gotten to one of your fantasies?

V: Someone sent me a note once asking if he could help with my exhibitionist fantasy. I must have read the note a dozen times, but I never took him up on the offer. Yeah, I know: coward.

A: Holy COW. People DO THAT????????????? And um... why didn't you? That would have been wild? No... okay... you don't have to answer but HOLY COW.

(April to self)Ahem... pull yoursel together woman - this is a serious interview. Not a tell all.

(Just April now) With that insight, I'd better get back to the questions.

What would you want other writers and your readers to know about you?

V: I love the sex, but I love the characters more. Someday, if I’m good enough, a reader will love them as much as I do. That’s what I write for.

A: Vivien, I think you've hit on something that is so true for so many authors. They love writing the sexy stuff but the characters --- those are the ones you want to share with the world.

Okay, last question:  Anything you would like to share with us, an excerpt, a tidbit, or anything else about yourself?

V: Here’s a nibble from “Come Hither,” a short featuring two competitive sales professionals who are trying to figure out who has the better pick-up technique:

"How about this, then: I catch his eye from across the room, raise my eyebrows like so," she demonstrated," and lick the tip of the bottle." Again with the demonstration, sliding her tongue in a circular motion, dipping it into the slit at the top of the dark-glass bottle. She noticed that Sean sat up a little straighter. Good: He was paying attention. "If he didn't look away, I might take a long, deep swig," she went on, closing her lips around the neck of the bottle, tilting her head back, and swallowing.

Sean's explosion of laughter was hardly the reaction she was after, but at least Angela didn’t sputter on her drink. Instead, she set the beer on the bar, tongued a drop off the corner of her mouth, and frowned. "What, you don't think I can execute an appropriate come-hither?"

And it’s on.

A: Excellent !!! Wow, that sounds hot. Thank you so much for the interview. I might have to call you up sometime to ... um... get some pointers.

Choosing A Title For Your Wonderful Novel . . .

Do you choose a title for a book before you write it, during the process or after you write “The End”? I never know the title of my WIP until I’m almost finished. Once or twice the title came to me while poring over my research documents. That’s how I chose the title Where The Rain Is Made, and believe me, many have asked what the title means. I’m about to tell you . . .

You can probably tell by the cover that the main theme of Where The Rain Is Made is Native American (well that, and romance). I delved into mounds of research about the Cheyenne while writing the book and it was a fascinating journey. There was no such word as heaven in their vocabulary. They called the place where the rain is made.

The hero in the book, Meko, is a shapeshifter. He has the ability to morph into a raven. Of course, birds spend a great deal of their life above or below the clouds. It seemed only natural that Meko would soar toward where the rain is made after his transformations.

So unlike our modern beliefs and customs, the Cheyenne had many intriguing customs. For instance, when a Dog Soldier died he wasn’t buried on a platform or placed into a tree like the others of the tribe. He was left on the prairie for his brothers, the animals, to feast upon.

When a young person in the tribe died, the People left food outside his lodge for many months. They believed he wasn’t prepared for his death journey and wanted to make sure he didn’t go hungry while he lingered between this world and the next. If the food was gone in the morning, they were convinced the dead spirit ate it (not the hungry camp dogs).

Completing a book is immensely satisfying, but I thoroughly enjoy what I learn along the way. Sometimes I enjoy it too much. I’m one of those who can spend hours surfing the net for information and pretty soon I have twelve windows open and forgot what I intended to look for when I started out.

Here’s to learning and research. I hope your next WIP takes you on an enthralling adventure.

A decadent-looking savage has captured Francesca DuVall and her brother, Marsh. Now she must spend every waking moment planning an escape from the camp of the brutal savages. What she doesn't count on is the powerful draw of desire interfering with her scheme.

Ethan Gray is a curator at a national museum in Washington, D.C. . . . most of the time. But when he travels through time to help his beloved People, he becomes Meko, leader of the most revered and feared tribe of the plains, the Cheyenne Dog Soldiers.

Their worlds are decades apart, yet Meko can’t resist the dark beauty he kidnapped during a raid. He has many battles to fight, but none more crucial than capturing Cesca’s heart forever.

SINFUL SATURDAY: Weird Aphrodisiacs from Around the World

No matter where you go in the world, people are looking for ways to spice up their sex life. Many aphrodisiacs have no scientific basis behind them, but here are some interesting (ie: WEIRD) ones from around the globe.

Eastern Asia—Ground rhino horns
Supposedly a cure for erectile dysfunction

Chinese, Egyptians, Hindus—Licorice
Increases sexual arousal and stamina

Indonesia and Malaysia—Bat meat
Often served whole to spice up the sex life. It probably tastes like chicken

India and Nepal—Rhinoceros urine
To increase sexual desire and vitality

Columbia—Big-bottomed ants
Often given to newly-married couples to spice up the wedding night.

Asia—Snake blood
A potent sex enhancer

Scandinavia--Reindeer antlers
To make you horny

From the Romans and Greeks—Aniseed
To increase your desire

China—Snake meat
Eaten, will recharge the sexual batteries

Aztecs—Avocado
The avocado tree was known as ahuacuatl, or "testicle tree.” Thought to have passion-inducing properties

Cambodia—Deep-fried tarantula
To help a man feel frisky “down there.”

Germany—Asparagus
The phallic-looking veggie supposedly stirs the loins, so to speak.

Becca Simone writes erotic romance for The Wild Rose Press. Personally, she would rather go sexless than eat deep-fried tarantula or a whole bat with eyes. Becca's Halloween story, Midnight Treat, is available now. You can learn more about her and her writing at her website.

Flirty Friday- What's he trying to tell you ?

Have you ever met a person and tried to figure out their body language? I must admit it happens daily to me. I'm a people watcher and love to make up creative reasons as to what their life is about. And watching their faces, hand gestures and body language tells a story of its own.

When a man is interested in a woman he makes direct eye contact. He can't get enough of looking into her eyes. He wants her to know she's the only thing on his mind. He is hinged on her every word and move.

If his body is relaxed- he's really into you.

Steepled hands means he's authoritive- which could be beneficial to you if you're submissive.

Avoidance of eye contact- better to leave this one to another.

All body movements can tell a story...
so what's his story?
