New Menage Release ~ HER MIDNIGHT STARDUST COWBOYS

Available ~ SMASHWORDS  PREMIUM CATALOGUE
   KINDLE & AllRomanceEbooks

SHAPESHIFTER SEDUCTIONS PRESENTS:

An Erotic Romance Menage

A woman desperate to save herself and her prize horses.
Two shapeshifter cowboys who want her as their woman.

When Zance, a timber wolf shifter,
and Dontoya, a black cougar shifter,
find Sherilyn dying due to a reckless driver,
there is only one way to bring her back to life.
But, that's only the beginning...

~~~~~~
Warning: Get ready for a helluva ride in and out of the bedroom. This novel contains lots of tender and fierce erotic lovin'. There are bad guys on the trail of the heroine, a sorceress who won't take no for an answer, and a horror-movie showdown. The finale: New Year's Eve at the grand opening of the Midnight Stardust Supperclub.
Beware, Danger Ahead! Shapeshifter violence, guns, and dark magick are involved.
The cast of secondary characters includes an alpha werewolf, shapeshifters of many types and stripes -- a sprinkling of other supernatural beings/creatures -- and a palomino stallion. Oh, and at least, one human.
Please note: This is an M/F/M menage love story, where pleasuring the heroine is the sole focus of the two heroes. There is 'no' sexual relationship or touching between the two men. This book also contains explicit sexual situations, graphic language, and material that some readers may find objectionable. That is, menage fun and fantasy scenarios, and backdoor play/intercourse.
~~~~~~

And, here's the longer blurb...

Sherilyn hides out on her small ranch near the odd town of Talbot's Peak, Montana, determined to save her prize horses from being stolen. She has no time for men. Besides she's been down that heartbreak road one too many times. The hitch: she didn't bargain on two shapeshifter cowboys who decide she belongs to them.

Zance, a timber wolf shifter, and Dontoya, a rare black cougar shifter, are longtime pardners. Having built up their immense ranch in the supernaturals community, they've settled into a cattleman's lifestyle. Now they've finally found the one woman they both want as their mate.

Talbot's Peak, Montana
December 2011, After Christmas

Chapter One: Enchanted, in a semi-trance, Sherilyn stared...

Enchanted, in a semi-trance, Sherilyn stared at the graphically gorgeous poster advertising a New Year's Eve celebration at the Pleasure Club. The large poster looked out of place hanging next to the community board, just inside the small-town, somewhat odd grocery store in Talbot's Peak, Montana.

"It's the grand opening of the Midnight Stardust, Dante's new supperclub. Are you thinking of going?" Brenda chattily asked, as she rang up Sherilyn's purchases.

"Ladies are free like it says. Dante himself hung the poster. He's such a gentleman," Brenda trilled like a teenager with a crush.

"He made a point of telling me there will be plenty of dance partners," she added.

"Is that right?" Sherilyn murmured, unable to force her gaze away from the oh-so elegant couple dancing beneath a galaxy of sparkling stars.

The forties era, swanky scene struck her as magical, and was everything she'd been craving of late. But that was not to be. Not for her.

Sadness welled up inside Sherilyn. She mercilessly tamped it down. That time in her life was gone, and all that mattered now was the harsh reality of her circumstances.

With the snow piling up, she needed to get on the road, get home. Mentally sighing, Sherilyn fished her credit card out her bag. "I thought Dante ran the biker bar outside of town. That's what I heard, anyway."

"Yeah, he does. But, he doesn't make it obvious. We all know he's the power behind the pack...er...I meant throne. Long day," Brenda excused herself. She nearly snatched the card from Sherilyn's fingertips.

"Are you going, Brenda?"

"No." She gave a shake of her head, reminding Sherilyn of a big cat. "Me and the mister already made plans for this year. Skiing, our own cabin, nights by the fire. We're getting away for a long weekend."

"Sounds lovely." Sherilyn smiled wishing Brenda well, while wishing for what she could never have, a loving man in her life.

She scooped up her four grocery bags. The sacker, a teenager who eyed her like a ferret, asked if she needed help, and Sherilyn automatically shook her head 'no'.

"You should think about going," Brenda persisted.

"Nothing to wear." Sherilyn sidled toward the exit.

"Couple of new boutiques in town. With all the folks pouring into town and the surrounding area, there are some high class shops are opening up."

"I'll have to check them out." Sherilyn pasted a smile on her face as she made a hasty escape.

Yeah, that'll be the day, Sherilyn thought as she stowed her groceries inside the small aging pick-up. Talbot's Peak was in a mini-boom, but none of that prosperity helped her situation.

Icy snowflakes melted on her cheeks as Sherilyn slip-slided her way toward the driver's door, and quickly climbed inside. Relieved when the truck purred to life as she turned the key, Sherilyn said a silent prayer of thanks.

In general, the bottom had dropped out of the economy, and with the rotten way her life had been going, she constantly worried about when the next crisis would strike.

Hell, even if she could talk herself into attending the grand opening at the Midnight Stardust Supperclub--not likely since men were a thing of the past--there was no way she could afford a gown, designer or not, or even a party dress.

Sherilyn heaved a sigh and fought off her sorrow. With the weather worsening, she gripped the steering wheel, carefully negotiating the slippery streets as she made her way out of town, then onto the highway.

Right now, all she cared about was getting home safely, and checking on her horses. Once everything was squared away, she planned on indulging in a huge steamy mug of hot chocolate while cozily curled up next to her wood stove.

Earlier in the day, she'd rushed through all her chores so she could head to town, and stock up for the winter storm coming in. Per usual, that had been no easy feat.

When Sherilyn had originally bought her off-the-beaten-trail, fifty-plus acres ranch, she hadn't realized how much work went into maintaining the structures and fencing. Most days found her exhausted, ready to collapse into bed.

She certainly couldn't afford to hire anyone. Even so, finding a trustworthy hand was likely impossible, given who her enemies were.

At the time, she'd been desperate to find a place far away from the Templeton bastards. The father and son had already tried every dirty trick in the book to steal her horses, coveting their superb bloodlines.

Sherilyn had also succeeded in breeding some of the top endurance racers. In competition after competition, her horses had bested theirs in performance.

But so sad, those days were over too. Sherilyn didn't dare compete anymore. The word would get back to the Templetons, and they'd track her down, rifles at the ready--the same way they did a wolf who killed one of their Angus calves.

After two attempts by their hired thugs to steal her top mare and stallion--only stopped by the grace of God, and her own willingness to shoot back--Sherilyn managed to escape.

Since it was throw-it-in-your-face known that the Templetons were attached at the hip with both local and state law enforcement, she'd skedaddled fast, literally leaving in the dark of night.

Driving past her ranch land now, Sherilyn significantly slowed her speed. There'd been a rapid snow buildup on the back road, and she wanted to keep an eye out for any break or cut in her fence.

Horse theft these days was damn lucrative, and the fate a cruel one. Recently, Sherilyn had found her fence wires cut three times, the obvious work of professional thieves.

Thank goodness, her horses were wary of strangers, and coddled enough that at the first sign of danger, they galloped toward the barn, their safe place.

Weariness suddenly grabbed hold of Sherilyn. No surprise, since she hadn't eaten much. Hoping like hell she wouldn't find a problem...well, lately, trouble had it in for her. What could go wrong seemed go wrong, despite her efforts to think positively.

And...there it was. The top strand of wire had either come loose from the post, or been cut. Sherilyn couldn't tell from this distance.

She eased the pickup close, careful not to end up in the ditch, then put it in park. Blowing out a long sigh, she reached for her tool box.

After fighting through the grocery bags, she finally got hold of it. With a sense of the inevitable, Sherilyn launched out her door only to be smacked in the face by strong swirling winds, laced with fat snowflakes.

She pulled up her fur-lined hood, pulled on the heavy duty gloves she kept in her pockets, and tromped through the freshly fallen stuff. At least, she'd had sense enough to wear her waterproof, high-top boots.

Glad the wire appeared to have simply weakened, Sherilyn cut off a length and twisted it together with the fencing wire. Clumsy because of her gloves, she still managed to hammer the loosened bracket into the post fairly quickly.

Sherilyn closed her toolbox, and as she made her way back, thoughts of hot chocolate and being toasty warm gave her some comfort. Near the ditch, she stopped.

Fear sliced through her, and a scream lodged in her throat. Paralyzed by the big ass truck barreling down on her, Sherilyn heard herself scream, a terrible sound that rang in her ears.

She dropped the toolbox, and tried to move fast, even dive out of the way. But it was too late.

Sliding sideways, the out-of-control truck slammed into her much smaller pickup. In sickening slow motion, Sherilyn watched her pickup fly toward her.

The impact knocked the wind out of her, flinging her backward as if she were weightless. She landed with a terrible thud, the sound muted by the deep snow that now half buried her.

Everything went hazy as Sherilyn struggled to breathe. Pain knifed her lungs, and agony seeped inside her body, along with a terrible cold.

Her head spun with disjointed images of her life, and she wondered just how badly she'd been injured.

No! Who was going to take care of her precious horses? There was no one else.

Sherilyn fought the darkness threatening to claim her. She battled as hard as she could, but it remained--expanding and rising--dark as the angel of death.

Death, oh dear God, was she dying?

Was the grim reaper here?

God, no!

Crazily, Sherilyn thought, I should have decided to celebrate New Year's eve at the Midnight Stardust. I wanted to feel like a girl...feel like a woman again.

I should have...she slipped closer to the void, her thoughts dimming.

With the names of her beloved horses on her lips, Sherilyn lost the fight, falling into an all-consuming pool of blackness.

ShapeShifter Seductions Flash Scene ~ Oooh...Crack That Whip!

 Originally posted at SHAPESHIFTER SEDUCTIONS.

I have to say, I love writing about Nick and Ziva.  This duo turned out way different and worlds better than the way they started off in my head.

They're always up for something, which is good since my blog mates and I tend to daydream and semi brainstorm in full technicolor fashion.

Maybe one day Nick and Z will get their own story or perhaps they will remain characters for my flash fodder...who knows.

Hope you enjoy today's silliness.
~~~
“Remember, this baby is eight foot long so you need to stand ten to twelve feet back before you begin your swing.  When you do its back-forward-slight flick of the wrist and that tip will crack just in front of our fine Editor Nick.”
“Penny, are you sure I won’t hurt him with this?”
“Sugah, he’s shifter, he’ll heal.  Now, while I’m teaching you to wield a whip at your love, you’ll call me Mistress.  Comprende?”
“Yes, Mistress…”
“Ah, Z, such beautiful words coming from your lips, someday…”
###
Ziva slipped one more button open on her tight white shirt and adjusted her tits to their best advantage.  Sure, it was probably incredibly male to think of them as tits rather than breasts, but she liked the course language when she was getting ready to get down and dirty with her man.   She rolled the length of leather three times around her hand, slid it under the clasp on her belt then adjusted her hat.
Six, deep and calming, breaths later and she was ready to go in and take charge.
Last week’s movie night was Nick’s choice and she found herself watching a classic.  Indy and the race against the Nazi’s for the Ark was an all time favorite for them both.  She, because let’s be honest here, it had one sexy Harrison Ford…dayum!  Plus it was action packed and the Heroine kicked ass.  For Nick, it all came down to the Staff of Ra, wood—go figure, and the whip.  Her honey was so predictable.
So over the last week she’d gone to Penelope for training.  They’d check in with Dom Bo Phant, Penelope’s friend and master whip handler, but he’d been out of town for the week at some sort of conference.  So Penny had shown her the ropes.  Now she would test her, well not skills, on her man.  The goal was to get it close as a tease, but not hurt him.
###
Nick shook his head as the wolf whistles and suggestive calls reached his ears from the bullpen outside his door.  Clearly, either Penny or Ziva was once again pushing the boundaries on what was workplace appropriate attire.
“Please let it be, Penny.”  He rose, intending to make his way to the door as it opened.  The vision that greeted him was clearly not his secretary and left him thanking the Lupa above.  Ziva, in her treasure hunter outfit, tits front and center—the flush on their tops told him she was into this game just as much as he was, and the whip…  Well hell, that baby pulled it all together.
“I’ve come for the Staff of Ra, infidel!”
“You’ll have to come closer to find it, my sexy raider.”  Not that he was doing a very good job of hiding the beast as it pushed against his pants.  Suit pants were a joke when it came to corralling his erection, something Ziva was now noticing.
“Shoot.”
She appeared to be taking measurements, though she should already have a damn good idea of what he had to offer.  Her hesitancy riled his wolf, pulling him from the scene and causing him to advance. “Ziva.”
“No, don’t come forward!  In fact, could you take three large steps back?”
“Why?”
“I didn’t take ‘it’ into account in my measurements and I don’t want to hurt you.”
“What ‘it’?”  He asked, stepping back as she’d asked.
Her sexy grin knocked his heart sideways and the winding of her whip shot adrenaline to every muscle in anticipation.  “Why your Staff of Ra, lover.”
###
The crack of a whip and the lusty wolf call caused a chuckle to break out in the bullpen.  Bets were laid down and raunchy jokes were made about Nick and Ziva, but then never minded.  Penelope smiled as she knew those two would never fully engage in a busy office, but that was what the back door in Nick’s office was for.  They were two peas in a pod; both had a yen for fun and an unbreakable bond.
May your weekend be filled with lovers and friends, especially if they bring their own toys!
Thing That Make You Go, "Hmmm...."
WEIGHT LOSS - Fascinating Fact: Sexual acts lead to weight loss
The average human loses 26 calories when kissing for a minute. Furthermore, vigorous sex for half an hour burns 150 calories (you can lose three pounds in a year – if you have sex 7 to 8 times a month). Kissing is also very good for your teeth: the extra saliva released during the act helps to keep the mouth clean – reducing the risk of decay.
A Hot Read for a Cold Night
A 1 Night Stand Story
Heat level: 4
Stephanie "Stiff" Johnson, is a tough Las Vegas cop who many men find too intimidating to date. Steph begins to wonder if something is wrong with her so she turns to Madame Eve to find a man who could be the yin to her yang, even if it's just for one night.
Hunter Morgan left behind years of living as a sub to a female Domme in New York. Upon return to his hometown, he questions whether he wants to continue with the "lifestyle" or find something different. Turning to 1 Night Stand, he hopes to sample his options.
A simple one-night stand opens a whole new sensuous world to both.
~Excerpt~
The blades of the chopper sliced through the heat of the night as it flew over the City of Lights. Casinos glowed in various hues of blue, plum, gold, green, and silver, casting a magical aura. Spotlights danced in the night, graceful fingers tickling the sinister side of Vegas. Unsuspecting people moved about, flitting from place to place, searching for excitement and fulfillment while cars in traffic jams occasionally brought the pulsing arteries in the heart of the city to a temporary halt.
Being a Las Vegas cop, Steph recognized the evil lurking in the shadows of the beautiful city, also known as Sin City. As the chopper made a turn, she viewed the vast landscape as an artist’s canvas. The awesome structures designed and built by nameless men. So many lives below. Where there is sin and sadness, one will also find love and happiness.
With a deep sigh, Steph continued to gaze at the site, wondering where she fit into the street party of existence. Not a single malicious bone in her body, yet a monster lurked inside, crying to be set free. And, despite the desire to have a special someone to share a lifetime of love and happiness, meaningless one-night stands never filled the emptiness inside. Lately, living and breathing her job had become her reason for lack of a social life. That, and always being looked at as one of the guys and a hard ass.
Some of the cops’ wives had made it their mission to fix her up with someone. Despite their efforts to feminize her, she intimidated the men they’d found for her. Not considered butch—she had all the right curves in all the right places and could wear sexy clothing that normally only looked good on a model—but everyone knew how tough she could be.
Controlling the power hidden deep inside her proved to be difficult and had ruined many relationships. Her last boyfriend liked to try kinky things, but had his limits. She’d gone out with a guy who’d insisted she be submissive to him, but that felt completely false and ended shortly after it began.
What’s wrong with me?
Frustrated at her inability to escape her reputation, she’d applied with an online dating service, 1NightStand. Not a regular matchmaking site, but more upscale; the mysterious owner, Madame Evangeline, had an amazing ability to find just the right person to satisfy one’s needs. Or so Steph had been told.
Her cell phone vibrated. Glancing at the screen, she noticed an email from 1NightStand. Instinct told her Eve was probably letting her know the dating service could not match her up. To avoid disappointment until back on the ground, Steph put the phone back in its holster.
The chopper began its descent.
Cold Imagining
It's been very cold and as I go about my day hurrying from place to place I find that I slow down. Yeah I know crazy to slow down when it is so cold you can see your breath on the air. LOL. But I slow down because my mind is filled with ideas. As others rush by me to get out of the cold I stroll my thoughts on scene from my books. In my head I'm writing the next part of my book and the cold fades as the story takes over. The cold imaginings I have had on these cold days is filling my stories. I don't like winter but the ideas it is giving I'm loving. Keep warm! :)
What is a Plot Bunny?
A plot bunny is a story idea that refuses to go away until it is written. The term's origin is unknown but is known to predate NaNoWriMo. Because plot bunnies tend to multiply quickly, the term is thought to be related to the oft-quoted John Steinbeck quote about ideas and rabbits.
The NaNoWriMo forums offer several resources for the care and handling of plot bunnies. Unwanted bunnies can be put up for adoption in the Adoption Society forum--prior to this forum's creation in 2010, they were offered in the Plot Doctoring forum. Plot bunnies that the writer wants to write later can be left in the Plot Bunny Day Care Center in the NaNoWriMo Ate My Soul forum, where they can breed with the plot bunnies of other Wrimos and be cared for in the finest fashion.
The care and history of plot bunnies is described in detail in Ilea For's "Plot Bunny Fields Forever: A Study in Plot Bunny Care and Husbandry", transcribed by Leo Fair.
Despite the similarity in name, the plot bunny is not synonymous with the plot ninja. There are various breeds, thousands of them, and many aren't even tied to writing. Inventors and scientists have their own breeds of plot bunnies that lead them to discoveries where A leads to B which jumps to G or even Z.
Warm Up with Spiced Hot Cider
Brrr...it's cold outside. Time to make some spiced cider. Invite some friends over to watch the game and have some fun.
1/2 gallon apple cider
1/2 c packed light brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp cider vinegar
1 tsp vanilla
1 cinnamon stick
6 whole cloves
1/2 c applejack or bourbon
Combine all ingredients except the applejack/bourbon in a crock pot and simmer. Add the applejack when you pour cider into mugs.
Here's another version. Sparkling Spiced Cider Makes 4 servings
Ingredients **1 shot equals 1.5 ounces (35 ml)** 1/2 cup (100 grams) sugar 1/2 cup (125 ml) orange juice 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves 4 shots (6 ounces, or 188 ml) chilled vodka (omit for kid-friendly version) 16 shots (24 ounces, or 700 ml) chilled sparkling cider Combine the sugar, orange juice, cinnamon, allspice, and cloves in a small saucepan set over medium high heat. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture is the consistency of syrup. Strain through a fine mesh sieve. Allow to cool completely. Use the syrup to rim 4 glasses, then dip the glasses into a sugar mixture (sanding sugar or cinnamon-sugar). Add 1 shot of the syrup to each glass. Stir in 1 shot of vodka, then add 4 shots of sparkling cider per glass. Stir gently and serve. For a stronger drink, increase the vodka to 2 shots per glass, and reduce the cider to 3 shots.
The smell will greet all guests and make your home cozy. Or just simply enjoy this beverage during a day playing in the snow!
Resources
We all have resources useful to us as writers. Whether it be neighbors, family members, past experiences, jobs or even online friends- they are all experts in something. Do we utilize these resources to the fullest potential? I know I don't. I'm challenging everyone to get out of his/her comfort zone in 2013. Write something you've never written before. Visit a place and research it. Call someone you've only previously spoken to online. I read a quote the other day that said all the important things in life are right outside your comfort zone. Not sure who said it, but it is oh so true. I'd love comments telling how you will challenge yourself this coming year...
I challenge myself to write a few more 'sweet' romances, such as I Should Have Kissed You, this year. While they don't seem to sell as well they do tug at my heart and leave me with a grateful sigh!
Want a ShapeShifter for Christmas?
~ A Short Shapeshifter Erotic Romance for Christmas ~
Consumed by curiosity, Kaily gives herself to a mystery man for Christmas.
Will Dylan be able to resist her waiting naked, but gift-wrapped beneath his tree?
To win the woman he desires above all else, Dylan turns the Twelve Days of Christmas into the twelve passions, all in one night.
Chapter One:
Santa Baby, Waitin' Just for You
BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5684456156431313506
Rarely reckless, Kaily flung off the negligee she'd first thought to wear. It landed in a red ephemeral heap beside the tastefully trimmed Christmas tree.
So what if she'd just broken into his house...well, she hadn't exactly broken in...more like she spied on him until she found out where he hid the extra key...lodged in a crack of the frame above the door of the Victorian mansion he'd resurrected from certain crumbling death, and now obviously treasured.
There was only one thing Kaily could see amiss in the traditional holiday atmosphere he'd created with the help of the town's local historical club--a garish red ribbon. The long sash had a simple bow attached to one end, and practically shone despite the low lighting.
Kaily stared at the unexpected invitation.
Certainly, the river of red ribbon didn't belong on the floor as a decoration, and she couldn't see anywhere else it belonged...except wrapped around her.
Since she was giving herself to him as a gift for Christmas...well, why not?
Wildly inspired, Kaily plucked up what looked to be about three yards of ribbon. After strategically emphasizing her full breasts, she arranged it around her naked body. Naked that is, except for her gold ankle bracelet, her 'I want to seduce you earrings'...and a whimsical pair of faux-fur trimmed santa boots.
Heck, Kaily reasoned, if he was gay he might just chuckle a ho-ho-ho, and turn it all into big ole joke...and she'd turn her bare tail, and escape as quick as possible. If he wasn't gay, but didn't want to take what she was offering, Kaily hoped he would have a holly jolly laugh at her expense as he politely showed her to the door.
It was all too true, her curiosity raged out of control--even causing her sleepless nights. The object of her desire had sauntered into Kaily's small town last December. He'd paid cash on the spot for the dilapidated but proud old Victorian mansion, according to Becky Starks the one realtor.
With a vengeance, and despite the winter weather, Sexy Strange Man--as she'd thought of him then--had set about restoring the mansion. He'd also made certain to gain the good will of everyone in town...well, almost everyone.
Nessie Jones, the town's librarian, didn't like Dylan. Of course, Nessie didn't like anyone anyway, for whatever reason she could find. The love of her life was books and a mystery man she claimed to be married to--that no one ever saw.
Behind Dylan's back, Nessie always curled her lip and wrinkled her nose, as if his deodorant had failed in its job...which might be case, since he always smelled smoky and impossibly virile to Kaily.
Even though she did try to avoid him, because of her obsession with knowing more about him--why make herself look like a prize-trussed fool in front of everyone by groping him with questions--still, they were always running into each other, and Kaily always became turned-on, and positively inebriated by his scent.
Okay yes, Kaily admitted, now she did look good and trussed up, the way the length of red ribbon wound around her body. At least, by what she could see. There was a slice of her reflection in the tall narrow mirror near the fireplace mantle.
With the bow dangling from one hand, Kaily wondered if she should position it over her well-furred pussy--not completely covered by the ribbon. Or maybe, the large showy bow should nestle between the swells of her breasts...or be placed like a centerpiece above her ample-enough cleavage.
''Ooooh...Santa baby, waitin' just for you," she crooned like the song, then pursed her lips in an attempt to look sexy.
~~~~~~

Blurb:

Kaily has been consumed by curiosity ever since Dylan suddenly appears in her small town. Surreptitiously, she watches the mystery man restore a rundown Victorian mansion, all while his charm and sincerity gain him the good will of most everyone. This is especially true when he volunteers to become the annual Santa Claus for the children at the town's park.

The problem for Kaily: No one really knows anything about Dylan's past or where he came from. With her attraction to him growing day by day, she becomes a driven woman. On a desperate whim, she gives herself to him as a Christmas present. Will Dylan be able to resist her waiting naked, but gift-wrapped beneath his tree?

Dream big, little newbie

Most of the Romance Writers Who Behave Badly are super veteran. And talented. And just generally awesome. But they also let me be part of their group and post here from time to time, and I'm no voice of authority, just another beginner trying to make this writing thing happen. I figure some folks who visit here are in a similar place. Welcome.

Lately in my journey, two very marketing-savvy folks have advised me to dream big. I should develop writing goals, see, like make the NYT bestseller list or be in book stores or win awards. These are worthy dreams in terms of making a career as a writer. But honestly, I'm more interested in making a life as a writer, if that even makes sense. So here are my big dreams:

I dream that one day I'll write a book that a complete stranger will read, and it will make her cry.

Him too.

I dream that one day I'll wrap up in shiny paper a book that has my name on the cover. I'll give it to my mother and tell her thank-you for all those yard-sale novels she bought me for a dime each when I was a kid. Hundreds of them, stored in the garage because Dad wasn't into that stuff.

I dream that some day I'll chat with my daughter over tea and mention how when she was in grade school she said she wanted to be just like me and write stories. I'll remind her that I'm always proud of her, but that nothing has ever made me prouder of myself than her comment that day.

I dream that some brand-new writer will come to me and ask for advice, and I'll cheer her on and tell her that she has talent and watch her flourish in her writing adventure, and I'll pay forward all the kindness I've received from other writers over the years. And the cycle won't stop.

I dream that some day a teenager will write breathless not-half-bad fanfiction based on my worlds and characters.

And that other fans will get it. And run with it.

I dream that some day a student will write a paper based on one of my books and not curse me throughout.

Okay, some cursing allowed.

Because achieving even just one of those dreams? Would totally be worth it.

Release day: Epic fantasy quest erotica anthology

What Happens at the Tavern Stays at the Tavern exists. A book! A real book! And I'm in it!

Okay, I'm a little part of it and it is available only as an ebook, but still! Multiple end punctuation warranted here!! (Whoa, that was a little much. The editrix in me just threw up a little.) So, yes, this is super exciting for me.

And it's a good anthology besides. I've read all the other stories, and nothing in a long time has made me so desperately want to stay up till four in the morning eating snack cakes and playing AD&D. So don yer +3 pauldrons of doom and smite something! ... Or just read the epic fantasy quest sex.

Guest Author - Lani Rhea

We have a special guest who slipped into RWBB. Give Lani Rhea a warm spanking welcome. Lani is a hot romance writer who’s a lover of coffee, married to her high school sweetheart, lives in the heart of Oklahoma.

Sounds like your life is a regular romance story. So tell us what you enjoy writing.

Lanie:  Paranormal, erotic romance, suspense, urban fantasy, thrillers (I'm a mashable author. I like to mash several genres together.)

What's the kinkiest, sexiest thing you've ever done?

Lanie: Riding my husband while he was driving. I guess we should have practiced safe sex, huh? lol

I guess I should ask what he was driving… but I won’t. Let’s leave it to our imagination.  You are such a bad girl. Speaking of bad...how bad do you get with your writing, are we talking just suggestion or down right bondage?

I'm in a vanilla relationship, though we do every blue moon drag out the blindfold and he restrains my wrists with his hands.

Oh… we love blindfolds, silk scarves, and handcuffs here at RWBB. I bet you don’t just wait for a blue moon though. Heh, heh.

Back to your work, what's the best thing you've ever written--the best line?

Under Bonded Contract is by far the best story I have available and was co-written with my bff. You can go to Amazon here and purchase it today.

As for a story I had written on my own, Louisiana Moon, the first in the Rising Currents' series with Lyrical Press. Louisiana Moon is due for release Nov. 5th!

I tend to write erotic romance into almost every story I write.

If you could have any movie star take on a role as one of your heroes, who would it be?

Hmm, for Louisiana Moon, I met a male model while at RomCon who would suit Ryant Starga. So, if the book ever turns into a movie, I already know who to contact. But you're asking for a famous movie star, right? I would have to go with Joe Maganiello, though he's a bit taller than my hero Ryant Starga in Louisiana Moon.

Oh, now he’s HAWT!

Size counts… on average how loooooonnnnnggg do you like your (um, how do we put it delicately) manuscripts to be ;> ( in words silly, not inches) and how steamy?

LOL This is a very HARD question to answer. Heh, heh.  Each story is different. I can say I like my chapters on average 2K long. Hmm, if put into inches, how long would two thousand words be?

The steamier the better IMHO. Then again, it depends on the story and the characters.

What are the hardest scenes to write for you?

If the characters didn't already know each other, trying to get them to bond. That's the hardest part of writing for me. Now if they knew each other previously, it's a snap to write the scenes.

How close in real life have you gotten to one of your fantasies?

Just about everything I write. *weg* So, to find out what fantasies I may have…go buy my stories!

Girl, you are such a tease! What would you want other writers and your readers to know about you?

At first I'm shy, but once I get to know you I blossom.

And finally… anything you would like to share with us, an excerpt, a tidbit, or anything else about yourself?

I will give away two signed Under Bonded Contract bookmarks. Leave me you questions and comments. No matter what you ask or say, I'll respond with honesty. Please leave me your email address. In a couple of days I'll select the winners and email you for your address.

Thank you so much Lani for joining us today. Good luck with Louisiana Moon.  With Jimmy Thomas on the cover, nobody will be able to resist.  Yum!  Can you leave us with a sample?

Wanted: Royal blood. Bounty: An action packed, sexy, suspenseful tale.

After losing her parents to vampires, werewolf Kristina Knight spends her life protecting humans from the bloodsuckers. Saving Darin James from the Truce Brotherhood adds fuel to the vampire coven's wrath. When Ryant Starga, her former lover, appears under the pretext of protecting her, Kris isn't ready to trust him again--especially not after he made his choice clear years ago.

 As leader of the vampires, Ryant is driven to protect Kris not only because of their past connection but because, now, the Soulscapes are out for her blood. If they succeed, the soul demons will rule the Darkworld--and no one will ever be safe. Ryant has a plan to convince Kris she needs his protection, but it all goes badly awry when, in spite of the years separating them, he's unable to keep his hands and mind off her--or the human Darin James out of the picture.

With Darin overstepping boundaries, will Kris and Ryant rekindle their love only to lose it again?

 Warning: Vampires, werewolves and humans--oh my!

EXCERPT

Flipping the overhead light switch pulled the moth to flame, drawing him near. Her body stiffened. Relaxing would not be an option tonight.

She skimmed for an image in the window. Taking precaution, she gripped the firearm on the counter. A whisper of wind blew his unique scent to her. The devil himself, her former lover, Ryant Starga, revealed in the windowpane. He leaned against the doorframe between the kitchen and dining room. Even with the glass preventing a clear picture, his stance showed confidence and a bothersome lack of concern.

She refused to turn around, but glanced over his manifestation in the glass. Silent, she waited for him to make the first move. He gave nothing except a blank stare.

Looking at him still sent pleasurable quakes of delight through her core, yet she wanted to stake him for her parents. She took the opening strike. “You used to be good at sneaking up on me. Getting rusty are ya?”

“I should ask the same. The boots were a dead giveaway.” His Italian accent flowed through the room, sending enjoyable chills up her spine. His simple words produced were beautiful.

She rolled her eyes and shook her head. Dammit, she loved those boots. She should have known when she bought them she’d given up stealth for style. Now she had to reconsider her fashion sense and treat herself to some new flats.

He wavered in the reflection. Arms crossed his chest, stretching his sleeves over bulging biceps. With him at her back, several things could happen. His arms could envelope her like they used to, and she would fondle his muscled frame. Or like many occasions, he’d spread her wide, bent over a counter or table. Her stomach clenched as she remembered his hands on her sensitive skin.

The scent of warm bread and steamed vegetables fluttered to her nose. The aroma bloomed and lingered in the room’s empty space. She glanced into the next room, to the meal laid out like a Thanksgiving feast for her vegan preference. Did he care? She couldn’t decipher.

Command radiated in his sleek stance. Ryant moved his hips, shifting his strong legs, switching the balance of weight between his ankles. Her legs had once wrapped his lean waist and burrowed heels in his hard, round ass. She cursed her body for wanting him again. How sad that some things never changed.

“Have dinner with me.” His voice flowed over her like a rich Tuscan wine, smooth and full-bodied.

What the hell did he think she’d do? Fuck him? First a vampire came to her office and now her home. Too tired to play his games, she sighed. She wished Ryant and his kind would disappear.

“Come here.” Once upon a time he’d commanded her with his beautiful voice. Not anymore.

She turned on her heels to face her nemesis and glared. Fifty years had passed since their last encounter in Los Angeles. Some memories weren’t erasable--the worst lingered. Kris refused to let his tawny, starburst eyes capture her soul again.

He snapped his fingers.

Candles flickered to life. The dining room warmed with a soft glow. Pale yellow waves rippled across the room, ending beyond the silver tips of his black alligator boots. The shine caught her eyes.

She clanked the glass on the counter. “What do you want? It’s been decades.” She grabbed the gun, then folded her forearms under the swell of her breasts to conceal the weapon beneath her left bicep. One hip balanced against the counter, she waited for his response.

He smiled in reply.

Her gaze narrowed when she traced his body from his boots to his face, absorbing the visual glory. He presented himself as the type of man--vamp, whatever--to show off his powers and wealth. The show wouldn’t work this time around.

A couple of buttons were undone, leaving his shirt open for her viewing pleasure. Staring at his smooth, golden chest, she swallowed hard. Her body ached to touch his. She forced back the desire despite the heat pooling between her thighs. Hells bells. Why couldn’t the longing for him stay in the past?

He’d made himself comfortable. He shouldn’t have. Kris sniffed. A citrus scent mixed with the aroma of food, and her stomach grumbled. Ryant had passed his time in her home drinking himself into intoxication. This reunion didn’t bode well with the combination of alcohol and angry werewolf.

“What do you want, Ryant?”

“Ooh, you say my name with such ferocity. It rolls right off the tip of your tongue.”

Her chin thrust out. “Oh, bite me.”

“Been there, done that. I could again if you’d like?” He licked his full lips, as his stare lingered her throat. His hungry gaze slid to her midsection. Self-conscious and aware of the other things on his mind, she shuddered.

Bite me. The wrong thing to say to a blood and sex-starved vampire. “At the risk of sounding like a broken record, what do you want?”

Love Coupons

Today is my 21st Wedding Anniversary.  The secret to our marriage is simple... always take time for fun.  My dearest hubby is a pilot and gone often so I've learned to tease him over the miles.  (We'll save that for another post....heh, heh)  Today he is several hundred miles away so before he left I hid a card in his luggage.  For fun I left a printable coupon  on his Facebook page.

I thought I'd share some of my favorite printable coupons.  Feel free to download and print.
