ShapeShifter Sunday ~ Sheriff Bunny Welch and the Horse Thief

Sunday purrs, everyone. Here's my latest flash scene at SHAPESHIFTER SEDUCTIONS. For more shifting goodness from the rest of our authors, come on by.

This flash was partly inspired when I heard the name of a real woman sheriff. Yep, Sheriff Bunny Welch. This is my Sheriff Bunny’s story. So far, that is.
~~~~~~
Sheriff Bunny Welch and the Horse Thief
On the trail of her perp, a suspected horse thief, Sheriff ‘Bunny’ Konejita Welch slammed on the brakes of her beat-up SUV. She blinked once, then put on her surveillance hat fast. With her eyes squinted in concentration, she gazed through the tinted windshield.
By gawd, it was a white tiger. Her eyes didn’t lie. A huge ole beast of a tiger frolicked in the snow, apparently rolling his own snowballs.
Well, do tell...she’d heard things about Talbot’s Peak...strange rumors that belonged on one of those popular paranormal radio shows. Oh yeah, she listened while patrolling at night -- just for entertainment.
But witnessing for herself was far different than hearing about it. Until this moment, Sheriff Bunny had never given the bar gossip, or the intel from other officers about Talbot’s Peak, more than a mental snicker. She’d promptly forgotten the warnings about packs of ravenous werewolves and other frightening creatures that went bump and hump in the night.
Dammit! Now all the details smacked her upside the head, and hard, especially since others nearby acted as if nothing about a white tiger playing in the snow was particularly unusual. Not only that, a beautiful woman seemed to fondly welcome the black-striped, monster-pawed beast.
Several loud complaining honks behind her caused Sheriff Bunny to pull herself together enough to continue driving, even though her hands shook. The last known sighting of her possible perp had been at a saddlery shop on a small ranch not ten minutes outside of Talbot’s Peak.
Hell, now she couldn’t wait to get through the bizarro, give-her-the-willies town.
Only a day ago, Janelle, one of Sheriff Bunny’s cowgirl posse and a good friend, claimed she’d seen a man who resembled the only artist’s sketch made so far of the suspect. One of the cowhands employed by the cattle baron, Charles O’Fallon, had spied a man among a herd of their breeding mares.
Next day six of the pedigreed mares had vanished, as if lifted away by a helicopter. No vehicle tracks were found, or any other evidence of how the horses had been stolen -- or spirited away. If the same MO hadn’t been happening for the last four months, Sheriff Bunny wouldn’t be so doggedly determined to catch the bur-under-her-saddle thief.
After all, she had her dang hands full enough taking care of her county’s people as it was. However, the icing on her cake -- Charles O’Fallon had promised a big donation to her reelection campaign if his mares were returned.
While Sheriff Bunny didn’t give a fig about throw-his-weight-around Charley, she did care about the people of her county. Plus, so many of them were family and friends. And a few of them had lost horses as well. With current times gettin’ real rough around the edges, Sheriff Bunny was all too aware folks needed her more than ever.
So here she was, chasing the elusive son of a gun into another sheriff’s territory, which was why she traveled incognito. If she found any solid evidence, she’d contact the local sheriff, and go from there.
Used to driving in all kinds of weather, the falling snow didn’t particularly concern Sheriff Bunny -- certainly not like that gigantic white tiger. The highway out of town remained clear enough, and her trusty SUV was tough enough...except when she turned onto the ranch’s gravel drive and hit the snow and slush-concealed ruts.
Jarred by the uneven ruts, Sheriff Bunny pressed on, her nose telling her she was on the right trail, alright. Mentally, she rehearsed her spiel about wanting a new saddle for her ropin’ mare.
Ahead of her, the Old West style, but modern-spiffed up saddle shop looked picturesque and serene covered by a half foot of fresh snow. To her right a large horse barn sat surrounded by several corrals that she could see, and by open pastures.
From her vantage point, Sheriff Bunny didn’t observe any horses. Likely, they were all sheltered. Still, something seemed mighty odd, and she glanced at her handgun just inside her open purse.
To her left, on a high rise of ground there was a low rambling house that appeared to be well maintained, and much larger than she would have thought for a small working ranch.
After pulling up to a hitching post and parking, Sheriff Bunny drew in a large breath, then stepped out of her SUV. The kind of quiet only created by a thick layer of snow greeted her.
Drawing her sheepskin jacket closer together, she scanned the area as if only interested in her surroundings, but turned at the soft creaking of a door.
“Something I can do for you, ma’am?”
The owner of the low-key, raspy-sexy voice met her gaze. His coffee-brown eyes didn’t own an ounce of back-down as he continued gazing at her. Yep, he was definitely the man she hunted, a match for the sketch.
“Yeah, name is Bunny. I was told you make a real good saddle. Didn’t plan on all this snow, though, when I started out. Forecasters got it wrong again.” She attempted a little smile.
“Come on in before you freeze...Bunny,” he invited. He’d twanged her name in a way that tingled her middle deliciously. That hadn’t happened in a whole hell of awhile. “My handle is Racer.”
As he widened the door, and stepped back, Bunny clutched her over-the-shoulder, leather-tooled purse, and moved inside. Dammit! Why did he have to smell so downright masculine, so fresh-hay good -- like he’d just come in from the barn. Just like her dream cowboy would have.
Beautiful, hand-tooled saddles and other tack, in various stages of being completed, filled the shop -- the smell of top quality leather was only outdone by the big pot of coffee brewing on an old wood cooking stove.
“Racer. That’s an intriguing name.” Bunny turned around to face him. “How did you...” Her words ended because his gaze could only be described as a stud who wanted to breed a mare bad. Real bad.
Now what? She was supposed to be chasing his tail. Not the other way around. Not that he didn’t look worthy of a long night’s tumble. He sure as shootin’ did. Especially with that high rise bulge tightening his denims.
Bunny gulped. No use letting her desires run loose and wild. Not with a perp.
“Racer,” he hoarsely began. “Nickname I got when I used to run track.” He eased the door closed, and took a step toward her. “Bunny?” He quirked a dark brow, then angled his head like she’d seen stallions do when prancing up to a mare.
Before she could stop it, the truth spilled from her lips. “My first name is Konejita, Rabbit in Spanish, only spelled with a ‘K’. And, if you want the down and dirty, I was an exotic dancer during my early twenties. So,” she drawled, “most everyone knows me as Bunny.”
Appearing to restrain himself, Racer crossed his arms and leaned a shoulder, one broad as the land shoulder, against the door frame. “What type of saddle were you lookin’ for, Bunny?”
“Got a top notch ropin’ mare,” she began. After hauling in a breath that only seemed to leave as heaving breaths, Bunny continued, “Anyway, saddle is gettin’ worn thin... and, I’m in the market for a new one.”
“I’ll make you any saddle you want.” He paused, and tensed, tightening his arms over his chest. “My specialty is makin’ the horse real comfortable. Can I offer you a cup of coffee?”
Bunny watched as his nostrils flared. “Yeah,” she answered. “Sure. I could use some warmin’ up. How many horses do you have?” she added as if it was only a matter of curiosity and conversation, once he peeled himself from the doorframe and moved toward the stove.
Grabbing a holder, he picked up the old-fashioned pot and poured the black liquid into two white porcelain mugs. Lordy, lordy, did he have the sexiest butt -- buns she wanted to personally butter.
“There’s ten of us. Right now.” Pivoting, he asked, “Take sugar and cream in your coffee, Bunny?”
Us? Bunny felt immobilized. Like the time she’d spotted a Big Foot. There’d been no mistaking the giant hairy creature. He’d strode right in front of her high beams during one of her patrols through an isolated area. Given many in the county had seen them also, Bunny didn’t doubt their existence.
“A little sugar and a lot of cream,” she managed through lips that felt frozen. Bunny watched him stir in sugar then add cream to both cups of coffee. When he turned, powerful and smooth as a wild mustang, holding the mug out to her, she forged ahead. “Uh, you said ‘us’. You identify that closely with your horses?”
“Gotta identify, if you’re gonna make a saddle feel good,” he answered. His intense gaze changed to enigmatic. Yeah, she had her perp. She just knew it.
As Bunny took hold of the mug, their fingers met causing a momentary electrical storm that surged up her arm. Damn! Here she was falling like a schoolgirl for a horse thief. Admittedly, a good one since she didn’t have a hat’s worth of real evidence. And how in ever-lovin’ hell had he left no tracks of any kind?
To gather her own wits, Bunny took a careful sip of the steamy brew yet observed him from beneath her lashes. He swallowed down about half the mug, his gaze steady on her. If Bunny gauged his expression correctly, he’d come to a decision about how to handle their interaction.
“Ever hear of shapeshifters, Bunny?” His serious tone threw her, as if she’d been suddenly thrown and hogtied like a calf.
“Of course.” With a careless shrug, she continued. “Heard about ‘em being in Talbot’s Peak. Didn’t believe it, of course.”
“Believe it,” he gravelly returned. Seconds ticked by. “I am one. I’m a horse shapeshifter, Bunny.”
Only aware her mouth hung open from pure shock at his words, Bunny didn’t move as he seized the mug slipping from her nerveless fingers.
“I know who you are.” He placed both mugs on the stove, then faced her. “Recognized you after a bit. Can’t forget a fine riding ass like yours, Sheriff Welch.”
When she did nothing but stare at him, her eyelids wide as the Montana sky, her body stiff as if he’d stuck her outside to freeze, he combed his fingers... at least, it wasn’t a hoof... through his admittedly impressive mane of bay-colored hair, then continued speaking. “I had to rescue my own kind. You see. I know you ain’t gonna believe me. But, they been stuck in horse form for too long to change without help.” He paused. “I know how to help ‘em.”
Bunny spun around, only wanting to flee this not-to-be-believed situation. She didn’t deny her sheriff instincts or years of experience, though. He didn’t lie. Of course, crazy people believed in their own fantasy world. Although, how did he know her last name?
“Gonna snow through the night. Don’t want you gettin’ hurt, Bunny. I’ve got a spare room you can bunk down in.”
Whirling around, Bunny pressed herself against the wood plank door, her hand automatically gripping the butt of her handgun. “I’m going to forget this ever happened. Far as I’m concerned this part of the investigation is closed. Just... just stay out of my territory... whatever you are.”
“Your ‘territory’ looks all too invitin’. I told you up front what I did, and what I am ‘cause I intend to get to know you better. A whole lot better.” He strode toward her, a stud scenting for her acceptance or non-acceptance of him.
“Look. I don’t want to shoot you.” Her gumption returning, Bunny snapped, “Even if you are an admitted horse thief.”
Whipping around, she jerked the door open. At the same time, he took hold of the door above her, his lean rugged body corralling hers. Through the cracked door, icy snow slapped Bunny’s face, and she could barely see her SUV.
“Perfect timing for a blizzard.” His husky whisper warmed her ear, even as he eased the door shut. “Ever rode in a saddle while being rode, Sheriff?”
Before Bunny knew it, he’d seized her purse, and given it a toss to the side. Then she’d been turned, and was now crushed against the door. His sinfully sexy mouth hovered above hers.
“Gotta frisk you for concealed weapons,” he rasped just before his lips fastened on hers, and staked a claim she didn’t want to deny.
Going for the Indie Publishing Gold... maybe...
Pic from Jimmy Thomas' RomanceNovelCovers.com ~
For several reasons I've been looking for way to dip my toe in the Indie publishing waters. One reason is because my main publisher doesn't take short stories, and with e-readers exploding in use, I believe there's more of a demand for them.
While reading through and revising another novella with the thought of making that my first Indie, I remembered an erotic Christmas Flash I wrote a few years ago... just for the pure fun of it... that ended up to be 9500 words.
So, I'm going for the gold. That is, hopefully, I'll get the story out there in time for the Christmas reading season. The cover art is contracted. I have someone who I hope will format it for me. Tech-wise, I ain't that smart.
Right now, I'm reading through the story, polishing and also expanding some. It's about 10,300 words at this point.
So, if this is your kind of read, stay tuned for the outcome of my Indie publishing adventure.
Here’s a sneak peak of the opening chapter ~
Santa Baby, Several Stars Away
A Short Shapeshifter Erotic Romance
by Savanna Kougar
Chapter One:
Santa Baby, Waitin’ Just for You
Rarely reckless, Kaily flung off the negligee she’d first thought to wear. It landed in a red ephemeral heap beside the tastefully trimmed Christmas tree.
So what if she’d just broken into his house...well, she hadn’t exactly broken in...more like she spied on him until she found out where he hid the extra key...lodged in a crack of the frame above the door of the Victorian mansion he’d resurrected from certain crumbling death, and now obviously treasured.
The only thing Kaily could see that was amiss in the traditional holiday atmosphere he’d created with the help of the town’s local historical club, had been a garish red ribbon. The long wide sash with a simple bow attached to one end practically shone.
Kaily stared at the unexpected invitation.
Certainly, the river of red ribbon didn’t belong on the floor as a decoration, and she couldn’t see anywhere else it belonged...except wrapped around her.
Since she was giving herself to him as a gift for Christmas...well, why not?
Wildly inspired, Kaily plucked up what looked to be about three yards of ribbon. After strategically emphasizing her full breasts, she arranged it around her naked body. Naked that is, except for her gold ankle bracelet, her ‘I want to seduce you earrings’...and a whimsical pair of faux-fur trimmed santa boots.
Cowboy's Wardrobe
I brought the bunkhouse boys along today to model standard western wear.
When it's nippy outside this sheep-lined jacket is premium gear.
The kerchief  tied round this cowboy's neck is really handy to wipe a sweaty brow.
Fast drying cotton shirts are often favored by the ranch hands.
Rough work demands tough gloves.
Chaps keep a cowboy's denims from getting damaged and offer another layer of protection when traveling through brush  and rough country.
A cowboy usually favors denims because they stand up well to hard use.
Most of the crew members sport a fancy belt buckle from time to time.
Last but not least, a Stetson, wide brimmed and deep, offers cover when it's needed.
At the end of the day, a good long soak in a hot tub of water suits most cowboys just fine.
Pinch of Naughty coming in December from Ellora's Cave. The bunkhouse boys can be found at Gem's Place. Stop in and visit with them when you have time.
Sunday with ShapeShifter Seductions
Autumnal greetings and Happy Sunday, everyone. I thought I'd share my latest Flash Scene from our ongoing story at SHAPESHIFTER SEDUCTIONS.
~~~~~~

Waking Up to a Man-Wolf

Still deep in slumber-landia, but beginning to awaken, Shauna rubbed her cheek against thick luscious fur. The warm silky fur coat felt delicious against her skin. Shauna smiled as she snuggled the side of her face deeper, and continued rubbing.

Hearing a rumbled groan that reminded her of low thunder, Shauna stilled. The hair on the nape of her neck stood on end. She raised upward, her eyelids popping open, wide open.

With the dregs of sleep hampering her voice box, Shauna could only gasp. Staggered, she stared as a shriek of terror froze in her throat.

A real live wolf met her gaze, and sleepily regarded her with dark amber eyes. Not just your regular variety of wolf either, but one apparently attached to what could only be described as a long, tall wolf humanoid body. A fully equipped body with... well, good-sized male equipment.

“Not a costume,” she muttered.

“Not a costume,” the man-wolf growly agreed. With his expression all too obviously sentient, and almost human, the cryptid creature grinned. Wolf-like, of course.

Was that cocky satisfaction she saw? Stifling the urge to scream her lungs out, Shauna continued to stare. “Nightmare,” she muttered. “I must be having a nightmare.”

Propping himself on one elbow, her ‘nightmare’ then roved his gaze over her, his manner clearly appreciative. “You’re a Cryptozoology hunter. I should be a dream come true.”

Shauna grabbed the sheet, covering her naked breasts just in case this wasn’t some realistic dream born out of her burning desire to discover a real cryptid species. Which is why she and the other three hunters had arrived in Talbot’s Peak for Halloween weekend. They’d heard major rumors about bizarre happenings and sightings.

Narrowing her eyes, Shauna forged ahead. So, she’d broken out in a sweat, and her legs were tensed, ready to run. “Shouldn’t you be in Elkhorn, Wisconsin? You know Bray Road... the beast of...”

“Too many of us in the pack now, sweet morsel. I headed west where the real shapeshifter action is.”

“Shapeshifter?” Shauna clutched the sheet tighter having caught a definite canine scent, and more, the smell of sex. Had she...? For seconds, her brain went numb with shock.

“I won’t devour you like the big bad wolf,” he joked, and toothy grinned, his white fangs showing. Yet, as he spoke, her nightmare wolf’s fur began to recede. “Give me a few minutes, pretty Shauna.”

Her own name clanged loudly, vibrating her insides. How the freaking hell did a wolf talk, let alone know her name?

Shauna trembled, feeling her eyes bug out big time as he continued to change shape. Gradually, wolf-man morphed into the uber-hunky stud she’d practically thrown herself at after the haunted trail ride. Shauna knew her mouth hung open.

“Is this better?” He quirked a small grin, his gaze amused and concerned.

With her head suddenly whirling like she’d tossed it into a fast-spinning clothes dryer, Shauna felt herself sway. Strong arms enfolded her, the ones she remembered... but, she faded in and out, the blackness attempting to seize her, to keep her.

“Sorry. I didn’t mean to shift. Happens when I sleep too deep. And you were so good...”

His husky voice faded away as Shauna lost the battle, collapsing in a faint.

***

Druk, third son of the Vijazri Dynasty Pack, methodically checked the human female’s vital signs. That is, once he’d gently arranged her on his oversized bed. Satisfied, she would regain consciousness soon, he indulged his ravenous appetite for her womanly beauty.

Her features, angelic yet sensual, had drawn his second notice when he’d first seen her astride the chestnut gelding. The haunted trail ride had been a test of his ability to blend in with the other shapeshifters and humans in Talbot’s Peak.

Having arrived several weeks ago, he was still scenting his surroundings, and still wolf-roaming to get the lay of the land. He hadn’t planned on a mate. Not yet.

When the ghost rider had appeared to rescue the jaguar woman, Druk had been standing closest to her, and Shauna had flung herself against him. Her fright had been real, and he’d sought to comfort her.

After their long hug, Shauna had clung to him, her gaze asking for more. Then, when she’d kissed him, molding her voluptuous body against his, Druk had taken command of her lips, guiding their kisses.

They hadn’t been able to let go of each other, and Druk had never tasted anything so sweet, so perfectly feminine, so wildly passionate as the way she kissed him. It was as if her mouth had been made to pleasure his.

Hiding them in the shadow of the one tree close to the main barn, an oak of great age, Druk had encouraged her feverish desire. A making-out marathon such as he’d never experienced, had convinced Druk to bed her, make love to her... and howling-damn any consequences.

Now here he was, wanting Shauna more than ever -- with a hard-on that could have rivaled a rock phallus. Grrrr-ing with need through his clenched teeth, Druk took one last look at Shauna’s angelic face, at the fiery golden fan of her hair spread on the pillow, before rolling off the bed.

He’d cook breakfast for her. That should convince the human female he wanted her stay, and also convince her he could act fully human when it suited him. Yeah-howls, take a big bite out of destiny, so she’d have to adapt to living with his kind, and adapt his shapeshifter lifestyle.

His human woman wanted a real live cryptid. By the Great Wolf she’d found one. She just couldn’t tell anyone. It might take some sweet nuzzling talk, but he’d talk her into keeping his secret.

With a groan and yipping grunt, Druk zipped his jeans, then padded into the kitchen. Ignoring the complaint of his cock, he swiped a hand through his hair, then opened the fridge. Damn good thing he’d stocked up on human food recently.

***

Shauna stirred at the fragrance of freshly cooked bacon and eggs. Tempted, but not certain where she was, she cracked one eyelid, and peered around.

How odd. Usually, she had no trouble knowing exactly where she was, and why, and with who. Now, there was only a haze, a memory that taunted her from a distance.

Sitting up slowly, Shauna gazed around the large bedroom that clearly belonged to a man, but one with very good taste. Unlike her past boyfriends, whoever the man was -- the one she’d obviously spent the night with -- he appeared to be somewhat well off financially.

Hearing a light masculine tread, she waited, her stomach clenching with apprehension. Carrying a tray, a man she would have described as “I want you’ gorgeous, entered and gave her a rakish grin.

“Breakfast is served,” he announced as if she really and truly mattered to him.

“I... I... you’ll have to forgive me, but I don’t... I don’t remember your name... or much of anything." Shauna swallowed hard. "At all," she added, watching his face for any sign that she needed to leave fast.

For a split second his brow creased in a frown. His gaze scrutinized her face as he continued toward her with the tray of food. Once he sat on the edge of bed, his dark eyes cleared as if nothing concerned him about her inability to recall their night together.

He placed the tray between them, and his eyes glinted with an intriguing amber color. Entranced, Shauna lost herself within their depths, her anxiousness disappearing.

“Shauna, my name is Druk. It means "Thunder Dragon". My sire -- father has a strange sense of humor. He claims I wailed during a thunderstorm as a new babe, then waved my fists like a warrior. Mother disagrees...” he paused as if he thought twice about explaining any further.

“Oh, I remember now. The haunted trail ride. You saved me from that ghost rider. How they pulled that one off, I don’t know. It was so realistic.”

“What else do you recall?” His voice was raspy, rumbly... teasing her senses.

“We kissed.” Shauna felt herself go up in the flames of a passion she’d only known with him. And that was when they’d been making out like a pair of raunchy, hormone-crazed teenagers. “I’m sorry. That’s all I can remember right now... Druk.”

His large sudden smile threw her. Most men would have sustained tremendous ego damage.

“Let’s eat." He leaned closer and his mouth brushed hers. “Later I’ll devour you like I did last night. This big bad wolf is hungry for more of your sexy wild lovin’.”

13 Drool Worthy Kisses

Izzorah Ceeow from
Surrender Love

Izzorah Ceeow is a Kin, a feline humanoid with fangs, claws, catlike ears near the top of his head, and soft velvety skin. In Surrender Love, he meets and falls in love with Luc Saint-Cyr, one of the most powerful men in the Tarthian Empire.  Here are snippets from 13 scenes where the heroes kiss. In this one, Izzorah is reliving a favorite fantasy, a few hours before he meets Luc.
= = 1 = =

“Stand on tiptoe and give me your mouth.” The deep voice caressed, soothed. “I’m going to taste you.”

Izzorah tilted back his head and rose on tiptoes to obey. He pulled back his tongue at the smoothness of the human’s, not barbed and scratchy like a Kin’s.

The man released his hands, cupped both of his around Izzorah’s face, and bent forward, angling his head to slant his mouth over Izzorah’s. A kiss of power. Relentless energy. Savage in need, but not in the way he kissed. The softest mouth, bold, taking, claiming every part of him, yet tender, as if he feared Izzorah would break if he kissed too hard.

Izzorah nibbled the man’s mouth, tasting blood drawn by fangs, sweet and buttery tasting with desire, his passion a honeyed cream. Izzorah couldn’t catch his breath. He’d always dreamed it would be like this.
= = 2 = =
In this scene, Luc is about to pick up Izzorah for their first date. He's in the shower, and starts thinking about the evening ahead...

Luc lathered his chest. When he kissed Izzorah, would the Kin close his eyes, or keep them open? His innocence and natural curiosity almost guaranteed the answer. Izzorah would want to see everything Luc did. Eyes closed, he brought forth the image of Izzorah.

He bit the Kin’s lower lip between his teeth and sucked it. Izzorah opened, granted him entry. Luc darted his tongue inside, flicked across his fangs, his cat-barbed tongue, and teased the rough texture. He pulled back, licked the corners of his mouth.
= = 3 = =
Luc has told Izzorah to be sure what he wants, because if they become lovers, Luc will not let him go. Izzorah has made his decision, but Luc isn't convinced...

Izzorah
Luc shifted his weight, spreading his legs. It did little to ease the discomfort his arousal caused. Inner heat rivaled his craven desire for the wet friction of Kin fangs and rough tongue. His heart craved Izzorah’s submission, his guileless eyes and smile, his artless desire to please. His innocence.

If he knew what I wanted to do to him, take from him, he’d surely run screaming in the other direction. Instead, Izzorah came closer. As Luc turned toward him, Izzorah set one foot between his and brought his cool mouth up to Luc’s burning one.

Too stunned to do more than accept the kiss, he stilled himself, not even breathing.

Everything within him longed to drag the Kin close and plunder the gentle mouth beneath his. Hot cravings drove through him like a hammer. Raw sexual hunger pummeled his mind, battered his resistance. When he could gather his ravished senses, he drew back.

Izzorah’s nostrils flared, slender cat’s ears drooping against his head. “You said when I was ready, I could come to you.” His emerald eyes had gone wide. Izzorah let out a long, sighing breath. His faltering smile tugged at Luc’s heart. “I’m ready.”
= = 4 = =
“No one’s ever really loved me, Izzorah. Even with Wulf, I was always alone.” Where the hell had those words come from?

“I can. I want to be at your side, Luc. In your heart.” Izzorah hooked his arms around Luc’s neck. “I will keep you safe in my heart forever.” He slanted his mouth across Luc’s.

The hunger in Izzorah's kiss rivaled his own. Luc shut his eyes and cupped one hand around the back of Izzorah’s head. He focused solely on the slick feel of Izzorah’s lips, the wet way they slipped against his own, cool skin molded against burning. Izzorah used his cat-scratchy tongue like a sensual weapon, laying siege to Luc’s heart with skill. He flicked the tip along Luc’s tongue and circled it, his chest rumbling with a low, growling purr.

= = 5 = =
Izzorah discovers that like Kin, humans like to have fun.

“Play?” On hands and knees, Izzorah crawled back toward him. “I didn’t think humans really knew how.”

“Kin don’t have all the market on that commodity, my beautiful young lover.” Luc put a hand in the tub and moved it back and forth. It sounded fast.

At the word beautiful, Izzorah flicked his ears, but the sound of splashing distracted him from the denial that flew to his lips. He leaned over the tub for a better view. “What are you doing?”
Luc Saint-Cyr

“Making bubbles.” He withdrew his hand. “You try it.”

Izzorah stuck his hand in the water and stirred it.

“Here.” Luc put his hand back. “Like this.” The faster motion made bubbles rise.

“Oh!” He grinned at Luc. “This is fun.”

Luc leaned in for a swift kiss.

Izzorah followed when Luc moved back, kissing him in return. Less than a handbreadth apart, neither moved, neither spoke. At last, Izzorah reached up, extended one claw to outline the edge of Luc’s black hair.

Luc seated himself cross-legged on the floor, hands on his knees. Izzorah slid closer, leaned in to kiss Luc’s cheek. He gave a tentative lick and then stroked his tongue more firmly, getting a taste of Luc’s skin.

“Mmm.” A little salty, clean tasting. He licked again. Luc’s ear drew his attention. When he sniffed it, Luc scrunched his shoulders and shut his eyes, grimacing. Izzorah yanked back. “I’m sorry. Did that hurt?”

Luc rubbed his ear. “Tickled. I didn’t expect it.” He gestured Izzorah closer. “My ears are a lot different from yours. It’s okay. Please, touch me. I want you to.”
= = 6 = =
How a human's mouth feels to a Kin...

Leaning his head on Luc’s shoulder, Izzorah tilted back his head and kissed Luc’s chin.
His human lover tightened his arm and leaned down, capturing Izzorah’s mouth with his own. Slowly, so slowly Izzorah didn’t realize it at first, Luc moved to the right, lowering them both to the floor. Forearm beneath Izzorah’s neck, he leaned over him, mouths connected.

The heated tiles beneath his back felt delicious. Izzorah stretched out under Luc as the man kissed him. The feel of him, one leg between Izzorah’s thighs, chest against chest, rolled an easy, warm wave of want across him. He opened his mouth.

Luc swept his tongue inside, not demanding, but giving. He withdrew, inviting a taste of his own mouth. Izzorah slid his tongue along the edges of the human’s teeth, exploring their flatness, the edges all one length.

Bathing after sex is a good time for some slow, lazy kisses...

“There, love. Warmer?” He pressed one cheek against Izzorah’s and held him until his shivering lessened. “What a perfect beauty you are.” Luc splashed hot water over him, wetting down the towel. He drew him close. “I loved seeing you come apart in my arms.” He laid a hand on Izzorah’s cheek and leaned down for a kiss.

Izzorah tilted up his face.

“Mine,” Luc whispered against his lover’s lips and sank into the welcoming heat of his mouth. He broke away to take a deep breath. “Mmm.” He held him fast, nibbling little kisses down his cheek and out his jaw. “I want to kiss you forever.”

Luc opened his mouth as Izzorah rose to capture it, and stroked his tongue across fangs half-again as long as a human’s canines. Luc sighed, lost in the tender roughness of a Kin’s kiss. The feel of that cat-scratchy tongue along the corners of his mouth sucked a raspy groan out of him.

The wet heat of the water, the tightness of his lover’s grasp, the squeezing, milking pressure sent Luc close to release.

Izzorah kissed along Luc’s throat to where shoulder met neck. Openmouthed, he dragged his teeth across Luc’s skin.

The sting of fangs jerked Luc to the edge, the precipice of climax. “Rah! Yes. Yes. Bite me.” He wrapped both hands behind Izzorah’s head and held him against his shoulder. “Hard. Like you love me. Like you mean it.” Luc stiffened, his neck rigid as his cock as the piercing bite sank home.

Learning to ask for a kiss...

Luc tucked the blankets up around Izzorah and went around to the other side. Sliding beneath the covers, Luc lay down and propped himself on one arm, head on his hand. “Are you warm?”

Izzorah nodded. “Will you --” He wet his lips.

“Will I what, love?”

“Will you kiss me again?”

Luc slid one fingertip along Izzorah’s jaw, from beneath his ear all the way out to his chin. “Do you want my kisses?”

Izzorah nodded, his breathing quick and shallow.

“Say it out loud, kosset. Tell me that you want me to kiss you.”

Moonlight filtering through the shadowed room brought out the green in Izzorah’s eyes, his cat-slit pupils wide with desire. He pressed a fist against his chin, eyes closing. “Please?”

“Oh, no, kosset. Say it.” Luc brushed the tips of his fingers against his lover’s lips. “Open your eyes.” When he obeyed, Luc smiled into the green depths. “Good. Now, tell me what you want. I want to hear you.”

The tip of his tongue showed as Izzorah wet his lips. “Please, Luc. I want you to kiss me.”

“My pleasure, kosset.” He took his mouth with tender passion. Their breaths mingled; Izzorah’s cool lips parted, accepting. Luc brushed his mouth against his lover’s. Delicate, wet, the firm planes of Rah’s lower lip had swollen from their earlier, rowdy love play. Luc dragged a fingertip across it.

Snacks turn finger food into an excuse to kiss...

Luc picked up a cube of cheese and held it up to Izzorah’s mouth. He licked the cube out of Luc’s fingers.

“That was sexy.” Luc picked up another one. “Do that again.”

Izzorah curled his tongue around the cube and pulled it into his mouth. He offered a grape to Luc, who wrapped his lips around it, bit into and held it with his teeth, and then leaned over to kiss him.

Izzorah accepted the grape from his mouth, smiling into Luc’s black eyes. He crunched the grape. “I haven’t had this much fun with a snack since the time my cousin Dallon turned all the mowts loose before bed.”

Luc threw back his head and laughed.

Luc knelt beside his chair, leaned in, and took his mouth.

Izzorah wrapped both arms around him, curling his hands into the man’s short dark hair. The feel of him in his arms, tight curls beneath his hands, the scent of him, all seduced him with its rightness. He’d come twice, yet his cock was straight up again. Luc simply held on to him, kissing as if it was the only thing he had to do.

When Luc pulled back and smiled into Izzorah’s eyes, trouble disappeared. There were no deadlines, no concerts or tours. No practice sessions. No fans to please. Nothing but this man. His lover. His hero. Izzorah shut his eyes, surrendered his mouth to Luc’s, and let the empire fade away.

“Mmm.” Izzorah let his head go back, resting it in Luc’s other hand.

“You like surrendering to my touch.”

“Yes, Luc.”

“Good, kosset.” Luc applied a little more pressure with his thumb, rocking Izzorah’s head forward and to the side. “Yes, that’s right. Enjoy your pleasure.”

He groaned as his shaft hardened. He turned his head blindly, seeking his lover’s mouth. As his lips met Luc’s, he whispered, “Yours.”

With a rough growl, Luc tightened his arms around him, tilting him back for a ravaging kiss.

Izzorah flung his arms around Luc, dug his claws into his coat, and held on. He opened his mouth, welcoming the hot invasion of tongue. Beneath his hands, Luc trembled. The scorching kisses trailed down his jaw, along his throat. Luc set his teeth against Izzorah’s left shoulder and bit down.

“Mmm.” Izzorah leaned his head to the right. “Again.”

“Like this?” He gave him another human-type bite. Tame, sweet.

“Yes.” Izzorah closed his eyes. “Harder.”

Luc bit.

Izzorah gasped. “Oh, yes. Like that.” He curled his fingers into Luc’s hair and held him against his shoulder. He kissed the outside shell of Luc’s ear, breathing into it. “Bite me when I come.”

Luc's alpha nature asserts itself in this love scene, to Izzorah's delight...

Luc stroked the underside of his tongue with long, slow licks and slipped across the top, circled it, licked the tip. Izzorah groaned with yearning, imagining Luc’s mouth on his cock. Teasing, licking, sliding wetly up his length and back down as he caressed his shaft. He yearned to ram into him, drive himself deep inside Luc, all the way to his heart.

“Mmm, Rah.” Luc kissed his way along his jaw, up to his eyes. “You taste like sexual heat and male flesh. I’ve pictured you naked like this, stretched out in my bed.” He licked the side of his throat, bit it, and held him tight with his teeth. “Purr for me.”

He purred, breath stopping when Luc sucked the tender skin of his throat into his mouth and bit him. Kin bit hard enough to draw blood when they were hot. Or dug in their claws. His pulse raced, so filled with passion and desire his heart beat like a panicking caged bird.

“Rah! Open your eyes.” Luc was gazing down at him when Izzorah obeyed. “Come on, love. Breathe. Deep, deep breath.”

He sucked in a harsh breath and panted. His chest didn’t hurt. He only felt joy.

“That’s right. Good.” Luc didn’t move. “Is it too much? Do you need me to slow down?”

“No! Kiss me more. Please, please.” He pulled Luc to him and lifted his mouth. He couldn’t get close enough if he crawled under Luc’s skin with him. The wet heat of their mouths filled his mind with sensation. Nothing existed beyond this moment, this instant of time when he belonged to Luc, totally, completely his.

Luc kissed his way down Izzorah’s chest, taking his time. “I imagined what I’d do to you when I got you home. Beneath me in bed.”

20th Anniversary... china, cups, plates...hmmmm?

Today my Dearest Hubby and I are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. This is supposed to be a milestone event so I looked online for a few tips on celebrating and gifs. This is what I found:

Gifts:

20th Anniversary Traditional Gifts: China is the traditional gift for the 20th wedding anniversary, as it is meant to symbolize the beauty, elegance and delicate nature of your love for one another over a period of the past twenty years.

20th Anniversary Modern or Contemporary Gifts: Platinum is the modern or contemporary choice for a 20th year wedding anniversary gift because it is strong and enduring in many of the same ways as your twenty year old marriage.

20th Anniversary Gemstone: The emerald is the traditional gemstone for celebrating the 20th year wedding anniversary, though yellow or golden diamonds are another available option.

20th Anniversary Color: The colors traditionally associated with the 20th year wedding anniversary are both emerald green and white.

20th Anniversary Flower: The flower normally associated with the 20th year wedding anniversary is the day lily. The meaning normally associated with the day lily is that of coquetry, including playful behavior toward your spouse and flirting.

Things to do:

Plan an exotic trip. (With what? Our good looks?)

Plan around a Chinese theme. (China being the traditional gift...I get it.)

A private dinner at home. (Yeah right... we have three kids involved in too many activities.)

Go to a concert or a movie. (Possibility.)

In all reality, DH is a pilot so I've been to many romantic places around the world and he bough me emeralds from one of them.  We've had private dinners at home, so it's not a big thing.  Concerts/movies... not much fun w/out the boys.

OKAY...NOW HERE’S MY LIST....

1. Tell him to pick up some flowers...lilies like the ones my bridesmaids carried.

2. Make arrangements for transporting kids.

3. Shave my legs.

4. Go to Red Lobster and get flirty over dinner.

5. Stop at Lover’s Lane.

6. Come home, tuck kids in bed.

7. Put on a China/Geisha Girl costume.

8. Play a sexy game and get some use out of that Sexy Coupon Book he gave me last year for our anniversary.
