I Fell Through Starlight for You by Kiera Fox
It’s the earliest hours of Christmas Eve and Lucille is thinking of closing up her bistro for the night when an enchanting figure comes through her door seeking aid for his injuries.
He’d just tightened the last nut into place with his trusty lucky wrench when the sled pulled into a tight roll to avoid an aeroplane at the last second. Kristjan had little time to react as his shoulder hit metal hard and the wrench fell from his hands, his line jamming between parts. It snapped. He reached out for the runner near his head but his well-lubricated hands slipped, sending him hurtling to the ground somewhere over Canada with little more than a grunt of surprise. You guessed it Kristjan Santason, a Snow Elf, unexpectedly drops in on Lucille.

Edward had tried to convince himself he could live with never setting eyes on his son ever again; after all, he had known him for no more than a few months. Yet, as the date of Oliver’s departure from Calcutta neared, Edward’s anxiety at the separation had grown to pathetic levels. The Promise of Love also has one of the best kisses ever written. But you'll have to buy the anthology to read it.
The thought of England filled him with apprehension. A traitorous part of him wanted to see Elizabeth again, hold her in his arms, but the other, angrier part wanted never to set eyes on her. Betrayal, love, a desire for vengeance, fear of destroying many lives – these feelings created a maelstrom in his breast. He couldn’t sleep, couldn’t eat.
The night before Oliver was to board the homeward-bound ship, madness descended. He could not bear the thought of never seeing his son’s face, never being a part of his life, never sharing in his little joys, never having his back in moments of sorrow. The idea could not be borne.
So he had convinced himself England was large enough for him to disappear into the crowds. He need never see her again. No one need know Mr. Edward Caswell was back in England. No one need know that Oliver was anything but an acquaintance made in a club in Calcutta, that the Duke of Glendale was not Major Cartwright’s father, that his real father was a half-breed, accepted neither in his own father’s gently-bred English milieu, nor in his mother’s native warrior-class Rajputana.

On Christmas Eve, Dr. Victoria Long is determined to take her relationship with Detective Devon King to the next level, maybe even the forever kind. But will their relationship survive when Devon discovers she’s a suspect in a series of thefts?
She’d first met Devon King when he began moonlighting as a security guard for these charitable gigs. The handsome man, beautifully dressed in a trendy grey suit with a deep purple shirt and tie, had discreetly kept an eye on the party. He’d kept his black hair shaved into a neat skin fade, sporting short twists at the top that had proven to be her downfall. Her fingers had itched to play with those tight curls and his pretty mouth. Those full lips had curved into a sweet smile without an ounce of arrogance when he’d caught wind of her interest. He’d filled out his suit beautifully, and she’d idly speculated about how much was padding versus muscle.Preorder Now!
Devon had kept his professional demeanor through the end of the event, until Tori had brought him the last glass of champagne. They’d ended up at his place where she’d discovered the suit didn’t lie, not with those hard biceps and powerful thighs. Memories of that night got her through her first year of residency and the endless shifts interspersed with little more than sleeping on her days off.

Regina Brooks thinks finding a box of abandoned kittens on Christmas Eve is a disaster in the making. Fortunately, her hunky neighbor Ric is eager to help her out -- in any way he can!
Ric watched from the corner of his eye as his pretty neighbor sighed with pleasure, leaning back against his kitchen counter. He’d been trying to think of a good excuse to get to know Regina ‘call me Reggie’ Brooks for weeks, ever since he’d moved in. And now she’d literally handed it to him on a platter, along with a box of orphaned kittens.Preorder Now!
He tried to think of something cool to say, but now he was close up alongside her he felt like a huge, clumsy dork. She was just so gorgeous! The first time he’d seen her he was carrying a heavy box into his apartment and she’d danced past him in the hallway, corkscrew ringlets of black hair flying around an exquisite face. She’d smiled brightly up at him and he’d nearly dropped the box on his foot.
“I’m Regina Brooks, but call me Reggie,” she’d said in a husky voice that sent arrows of heat straight to his groin. “You must be the new guy.”
He’d barely managed to stutter out his own name, staring at her in fascination Her skin was a gloriously rich copper color and she had a scattering of darker freckles across her nose. Ever since, he’d been trying to come up with a reason to say more than a few words in passing, maybe get up the guts to ask her on a date.
Well, it might not be quite a date, but beer and pizza was at least an excuse to get to know her better. Even if it did take a box full of kittens.
