Blue Moon

The average interval between Full Moons is about 29.5 days, whilst the length of an average month is roughly 30.5 days. This makes it very unlikely that any given month will contain two Full Moons, though it does sometimes happen. According to the popular definition, it is the second Full Moon to occur in a single calendar month. On average, there will be 41 months that have two Full Moons in every century.

Tonight many areas will see a Blue Moon.  Other areas will see it in September.

Have some fun with this magical event.
Eat Bluemoon IceCream

Have a Blue Moon Cocktail

Go for a walk with your honey in the moonlight
Make love outdoors or with the moonlight coming through a window.

Thursday 13 - Sex Tips to Boost Your Love Life

It's important to remember that sex should be fun.

1. Text him
Build up the suspense throughout the day by sending him messages telling him what you want to do to him and what you want him to do to you

2. Make noises
Moaning will not only make you concentrate on what's going on, it'll make him feel excited and want to do more.

3. Wear high heels
Very few men can resist a woman in heels and what's more, recent research suggests it can do wonders or your pelvic floor muscles. They also make your legs look longer and more shapely. A guaranteed turn-on for your fella.

4. Suck his finger
Do it in public (if your religion's teachings allow this). Just take his little finger in your mouth and swirl it around. It doesn't look like much to anyone who sees you do it, but believe us, it'll get him pretty turned on.

5. Talk dirty
It doesn't have to be an epic, but try imagining the most dirty, erotic story you can think of it and then tell it. We know it may feel weird to start with, but only you and him will hear it, so just go for it. Make sure he can't touch you while you're telling it, as well.

6. Use food
The use of the contents of the fridge in the film 9 1/2 Weeks is well-known, but it's shouldn't be reserve for films. Eating with your hands and using food you can smear on each other's bodies is fun and sexy.

7. Be naughty
Men are primitive beasts and they love something a little different - whether it's a little light smacking, dressing up, or even going out wearing no knickers (if your religion's teachings allow this) and then whispering it to him when you're in the middle of a big crowd.

8. Take a bath together
Dim the lights, light the candles, use some nice scented bubble bath and hop in. It's another way to get close to each other and build up suspense. If your bath isn't big enough...

9. Share a shower.
Wash each other all over with a sponge without any intimate touching - it can be very erotic and will get you both in the mood.

10. Take photos of each other
Either get hold of a cheap Polaroid, or now we're in the 21st century, you could send him a saucy snap taken on your mobile. Get him to return the compliment. It's a very effective form of foreplay.

11. Tie each other up.
We're not suggesting heavy bondage - just use some silk scarves or stockings instead. You can then tease whoever is pinned to the chair/bed and leave them panting for more. Just make sure the knots aren't too tight.

12. Get the feathers out.
Get a couple of feathers out and use them on each other's body during foreplay. The feeling of them on your skin will give each of you a sexy shiver.

13. Undress each other
Taking each other's clothes off can be very sexy and, if you've planned it in advance, you can make sure you both have nice underwear on that looks and feels sensuous to the touch.

Most of all...ENJOY EACH OTHER!

Start of a new birthday year

Earlier this month was my birthday. Another year passed and reflection on where I was on my last birthday. I can honestly say that I am proud of what I have accomplished in the last year and I’m looking forward to what is coming up.

Each year on my birthday I like to take sometime and think of previous birthdays and what moments has happened throughout them. One of the things I think on is if I have anything I haven’t done that I wanted to. This past year I have done many things I wanted too. There are some still left undone but in progress. The year between now and my next birthday I have lots I want to accomplish and I’m revved to do it.

Have a great day!

Sexual identification in Georgian England

Pop quiz: If the word "homosexual" did not appear in common use until 1892 and the term "gay" wasn't used in reference to same-sex couples until 1953, what do you suppose folks who preferred the company of their own gender called themselves in 1805?

The fashion for self-identification -- or self-labeling -- is fairly new. We're gay, straight, bi, soccer-mom, bobo, sub, GenX, millennial, geek, jock, liberal, conservative, religious, dog-person, cat-person hipster Team-Edward nerds. We collect labels, arrange them all around ourselves, and then tell the rest of the world, "Hey, this is what I am. Deal with it." Kind of liberating, yeah? Our ancestors were not so lucky.

Don't get me wrong, people in the 18th and early 19th centuries got labels slapped on them all the time -- sans culottes, provincial, wife, aristocrat, artisan, journeyman, beggar, whore. They rarely sought out labels, though, because their labels came with a burden of responsibility, an expectation of behavior that was rarely liberating. Sometimes the weight of that burden convinced people with homosexual preferences to marry and beget children despite their nature. Sometimes it caused them to hide who they were and what they wanted.

Case in point: In 1631, the second Earl of Castlehaven was tried and beheaded for sodomy. Not because he was frolicking with another man -- though that was the superficial reason, loads of gentlemen did as much without being prosecuted for it -- but because he failed, spectacularly and publicly, in his responsibilities as head of family. He not only failed to keep his own liaisons discrete but also to control the behavior of his wife and children and other dependents. He would have described himself, not as a gay man, but as a head of house, an earl, and that label was neither liberating nor empowering. It shackled and ultimately defeated him.

In the soon-to-be-released story "Sophie's Rogues" -- co-written by Christa Paige and Vivien Jackson -- all three of the characters in the ménage are struggling with the challenges of satisfying their personal needs within the limitations of their labels. Sophie is a widow, Edward has just inherited a barony, and Sebastian is a powerful marquess. These are the labels that, in their society, are supposed to inform all of their desires and ambitions. Unfortunately for them, their desire for each other is just too damn strong.

Oh, and the story-specific answer to the pop quiz question -- How would the characters in SOPHIE'S ROGUES self-identify in 21st-century parlance? Well, Edward would probably call himself conflicted. Sebastian would call himself Master. And with both of those gentlemen lounging mostly naked in her boudoir, Sophie would call herself one lucky bitch.

Fetish Friday

For every Friday there is a fetish.
Today is tattoos.

Kings and commoners. Sailors and prisoners. Tribesmen and sweethearts.
All have shared one thing: the art of the tattoo.

Evidence from ancient Egypt, Greenland, Siberia, and New Zealand shows how truly global the tattooer's art is — and how old. In fact, tattooing had existed for thousands of years before England's Captain Cook encountered it in the South Pacific in 1769.
Merchant and naval seamen soon spread the art to Europe and America.
Body art has come a long was since sailor ink.

Enjoy some of my favorite pix.

So feminine.
Marco DaSilva, yummy.

This one inspired the tat on my hero in Crow Magic.

Imagine her starring in a production of Grease.

Now, I'll leave you with
The beautiful art of Rugby player, Vince Ramos.

New Release ~ Blatant Shameless Plug: Temptation and Tights

Originally posted at SHAPESHIFTER SEDUCTIONS.

I love it when I have a new release. I can use a shameless plug and an excerpt as my blog post and not have to come up with a new flash scene. Temptation and Tights isn’t a shapeshifter story, though it has a shifter of sorts in it: one of the heroes can change himself into a human velociraptor. Having a character who sprouts claws, fangs and a tail when he gets excited makes for interesting sex scenes.

Temptation and Tights is available at a 10% discount until Sunday, August 26. If the Avengers, Spider-Man, and Batman movies have whetted your appetite for superheroes and you’re a fan of M/M romantic comedy, you won’t want to miss out on this. You can check out the excerpts at www.bookstrand.com/temptation-and-tights, or enjoy the one below.

BLURB:
A lab accident turns Dr. Burke Templeton into supervillain Malaraptor. Superhero Icarius is determined to bring him to justice. They find themselves falling for each other instead, in spite of differing ethics and the whole teeth-and-tail thing. What’s a desperate, love-struck human dinosaur and a conflicted hero to do?

EXCERPT
“So you’re a mutant? Like Yeti?”

“Yeah, I guess. I was a skinny kid, a lot lighter than I looked. The wings never got all that big, so I could never get much altitude, but I’d get a couple yards off the ground, and I could maneuver. I could fly.”

Eyes on the city, Owen nevertheless sensed Burke’s stare roving over his artificial wings. “I take it your parents were less than thrilled,” Burke commented.

“They didn’t know. I didn’t tell them.” Owen sighed into the night. “There are a lot of things I never told them, or anyone. I knew I was gay years before I grew wings. Wings and gayness aren’t things a proper young socialite discloses to his upper-crust parents.”

He pressed a finger to Burke’s lips to forestall any response. “Here’s what happened. I grew. The wings didn’t. By the time I was fifteen I’d gotten too heavy for liftoff. They just became a nuisance. When I was nineteen, I had them removed.” He lifted his finger from Burke’s mouth. “But I never forgot.”

Silken lips and a brush of hair whispered over his cheek. The arms and legs locking their bodies together squeezed a little tighter, not in fear.

“Show me,” Burke whispered.

Owen dove, rose, swept across the sky like a hunting eagle. The twinkling lights of the city beneath them blurred into gleaming streaks. More than the thrill of open flight, he relished the heat and weight of the man in his arms. Anonymous gropes and grunts in an alley didn’t hold a candle to this.

Hold onto that. Concentrate on that. Focus on the man and forget the monster caged inside him, and the fact the lover he cradled in his embrace fought for the opposite team.

“What’s that?” Burke asked.

Owen broke off and only then realized he’d been humming under his breath. “Jesus, was I doing that out loud?”

“Pretty tune. It sounds somewhat familiar.”

Owen chuckled. “It’s that song from that movie. The flying scene. I’ve got it running through my head.”

Burke angled his hips to push up against Owen’s. “I can’t read your mind,” he said, “but I’ll bet I know what you’re thinking.”

(Who knows what movie they're talking about? Show of hands!)

Thrusday 13 - Reasons to Attend the Montrose Blueberry Festival

13 Reasons to Attend the Montrose Blueberry Festival

I live in a small community in Mid-Michigan and every year during the third weekend in August we host the Montrose Blueberry Festival. (Yes, we do have many places to pick berries!) But for those who have never attended our festival, here are a few reasons to zip into my town for a visit.

1. Blueberries… everything blueberries! Yummy! Pie eating contest! (Don't forget to have save room for the Pig Roast

2. Blueberry pancake breakfast on Sat & Sun. We serve 4,000 hungry folks. The sausages are the kids favorites. My family has been working the breakfast for years, so come to it and I’ll take a break to chat.

3. Medieval Village & Renaissance Faire. Montrose is Scottish for “mountain of roses”. In this hilly farming community, many wild roses grow around fields and in ditches.

Working with the knowledge of our Scottish heritage and members from the greater Renaissance Festival folk from the Shiabruck Medieval Village, we’ve put together an amazing village and faire. Stop by and meet my special friends, Gypsy and Hagrid. Gypsy made the original necklace Mike McAlister wears in my book "Lonely Soul".

4. The awesome parade. My boys have been in it every year! The carnival & Midway are a blast!

5. Farmers Market. The best food to put into your body is wholesome home grown!

6. Flea Market and craft show. I lose myself in there every year; the boys have to lure me out with chocolate.

7. Classic Car Show and Vintage Snowmobile Swap Meet.

8. Mud Drag & Mud Bog for those who still enjoy playing in the mud.

9. Demolition Derby. A great way to take out aggression.

10. Live music and a karaoke contest. No way… you won’t hear me sing! We also have an awesome beer tent.

11. Firefighters Demonstrations.

12. Lots of local cowboys.

13. Softball,5-mile road race, horseshoes, Tug-of-War Challenge and more time in the beer tent. Great opportunities to see some shirtless men!

Throughout the town and township, there are a ton of rummage sales offering wonderful treasures and parties galore! I hope many of you take a break from your busy schedule and visit. If I’m available, I’ll let you know where the best "goodies" are. Hugs!

  • 2 1/4 cups white sugar
  • 2 cups shredded zucchini
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pint fresh blueberries

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease 4 mini-loaf pans.
  2. In a large bowl, beat together the eggs, oil, vanilla, and sugar. Fold in the zucchini. Beat in the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon. Gently fold in the blueberries. Transfer to the prepared mini-loaf pans.
  3. Bake 50 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a knife inserted in the center of a loaf comes out clean. Cool 20 minutes in pans, then turn out onto wire racks to cool completely.

I also recomend trying some blueberry wine.   My favorite is Blueberry Splash from Warner Vineyards in Paw Paw, MI.

I Ban You Mayor Bloomberg

I recently heard about what strict laws New York City has. I'm a woman who enjoys shooting, but can't have a gun there. What? So the constitution only applies in the rest of the country? I spoke with a friend of mine last night and asked if it were true that he could only drink baby cokes. Ha, ha. He says that law didn't pass and he can, indeed, drink any size coke he wants. Not that those aren't major offenses, because they are, but now Mayor Bloomberg has started a program called 'Latch On NYC' where hospitals are encouraged to lock up baby formula. Now I'm all for informing women about how good breastfeeding is, I did it with my own child. What has happened to choice? Shouldn't these women be left to decide how they want to feed and care for their own babies? They say the women get final say and will be allowed to 'sign out' formula if they want it.(Similar to medicine) This is one step closer to regulation we don't need. What's next? The banning of erotica or erotic romance? How about children's books? Is anything safe in in that town? Once you give away one right, more always follow...

SEX AND COFFEE

A new study from The Netherlands suggests that having sex and drinking coffee can temporarily raise your risks of strokes or brain aneurysms. Why? Aneurysms are the result of the wall of an artery weakening, bulging, and, worst case- bursting. Seems a raise in blood pressure is the root cause. The advice: if you’ve had an aneurysm, avoid caffeine, and keep your sex low key.

BUT……

Sex is good for your heart, cutting your risk of heart attack and stroke in half when performed three times a week. Your also body burns off approximately 200 calories per “work out” thus helping with weight issues.

Coffee is good for your heart and head, if it’s black and drank in moderation that is. Only 2 calories per serving is a great way to get a jolt of energy in the morning. It’s also rich in antioxidants, and improves focus and concentration.

SO THE LESSON HERE IS….

DON’T DRINK COFFEE AND HAVE SEX.

Humpday Help - Dishwashing 101

Seeing a man on his own accord washing dishes is HOT.
Tips:

1.      Dishes wash easily if you keep them under the water while scrubbing them. Particles lift away. Bring the dish out of the water to check for missed spots.

2.      Stacking a few dishes in the sink at a time allows dishes a few minutes of soaking time while you work on washing another dish.

3.      Try drying pots and pans with a paper towel to reduce residue from the pan staining the dishcloth.

4.      Don't allow aluminum to soak while dishwashing. Doing so can darken the finish.

5.      Dish washing silverware can be tricky. Use a lint free cloth for drying silverware.

“ Wanted a man who empties the dishwasher. And if you want to really sweep me off my feet load it too …..then baby I’m all yours. The sight of you with those plates in your hand has me tingling from head to toe. Oh I’m all yours darlin’ and I ain’t ever gonna let you go.”

What do you think ladies….does a man who will do the dishes start your engine?

Six Sentence Sunday

Accepting her unspoken summons, the crow landed on her wrist. His feet dug into her skin, a drop of blood seeped from under a claw. He shifted his weight and gazed into her eyes. The dark abyss pulled her in; falling into the dark pools. Her soul reached out to his. For a moment she thought she saw a man’s face; copper skin, a strong brow and chiseled features of an ancient warrior.

Scrumptious Saturday with Jacqueline Paige

White perusing for a tasty dessert that wasn't all chocolate (I was trying for a change) I came across this and chocolate or not I had to share it!

It was simply called 'a brownie' but I'm thinking it is so much more worthy than that.  I believe it will forever be known as OMG Brownie in my mind.
A brownie of both white and milk chocolate, covered with vanilla ice cream and both hot and cold chocolate and caramel sauce ... *sigh*

I was so caught up with the dessert, I almost forgot to find someone to go with it!  (how sad am I?)

I think he'll do nicely.
*more sighing*

Have a great weekend!!
